Association between resilience and Burnout syndrome in human medicine students at Norbert Wiener University during the 2022-1 academic semester

Abstract

The general objective of this research was to determine the association between resilience and Burnout syndrome in human medicine students at Norbert Wiener University during the 2022-1 academic semester, for which a deductive method was used, a type of applied research with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental design in a sample of 223 human medicine students to whom questionnaires were applied whose purpose was value the research variables, being that they complied with the corresponding validity and reliability. The results showed that 18.4% of students presented burnout, and students with a high level of resilience had a 72% lower prevalence of present burnout. It was concluded that there is an association between resilience and depression syndrome. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar la asociación entre resiliencia y síndrome de Burnout en los estudiantes de medicina humana de la Universidad Norbert Wiener durante el semestre académico 2022-1, para lo cual se empleó un método deductivo, un tipo de investigación aplicada con un enfoque cuantitativo y un diseño no experimental en una muestra de 223 estudiantes de medicina humana a quienes se les aplicó cuestionarios que tenían por finalidad valorizar las variables de la investigación, siendo que los mismos cumplían con los procesos de validez y confiabilidad correspondientes. Los resultados mostraron que el 18.4% de estudiantes presentó burnout, y los estudiantes con alto nivel de resiliencia tenían 72% menor prevalencia de presentar burnout. Se concluyó que existe relación asociación entre resiliencia y síndrome de Burnout en los estudiantes de medicina humana de la Universidad Norbert Wiener durante el semestre académico 2022-1 (p=0.001)
