Level of overload of family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia in a public mental health and psychiatry institution - 2021

Abstract

The objective of this project is to determine the level of overload of family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia in a public mental health and psychiatry institution in 2021. Materials and methods. The study will have a quantitative approach, likewise the methodological design is non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population will consist of 120 family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia in a public mental health and psychiatry institution in 2021. The technique used will be the survey. The Zarit Caregiver Overload Scale instrument to measure the level of this in responsible family members, which is based on a 22-question questionnaire, will describe the possible situations in which family caregivers may find themselves, adding up to a global score. (22 - 110 points) classifying the tutor as: “absence of overload” less than or equal to 46 points; “light overload” of 47-55 points; “intense overload” greater than or equal to 56 points.

El presente proyecto tiene por objetivo determinar el nivel de sobrecarga de familiares cuidadores de pacientes con esquizofrenia en una institución pública de salud mental y psiquiatría 2021. Materiales y métodos. El estudio será de enfoque cuantitativo, así mismo el diseño metodológico es de tipo no experimental y diseño transversal. La población estará constituida por 120 familiares cuidadores de pacientes con esquizofrenia en una institución pública de salud mental y psiquiatría 2021. La técnica utilizada será la encuesta. El instrumento la Escala de Sobrecarga del Cuidador de Zarit para medir el nivel de esta en los familiares responsables, la cual se fundamenta en un cuestionario de 22 preguntas, describirán las posibles situaciones en las que puedan encontrarse los familiares cuidadores, sumándose en un puntaje global (22 - 110 puntos) clasificando al tutor en: “ausencia de sobrecarga” menor o igual a 46 puntos; “sobrecarga ligera” de 47-55 puntos; “sobrecarga intensa” mayor o igual a 56 puntos.
