Level of knowledge and practice of self-care in patients with tuberculosis who attend the La Libertad Health Center - San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of self-care in patients with tuberculosis who attend the La Libertad San Juan de Lurigancho Health Center, Lima 2023. Methodology: A quantitative, applied, non-experimental study approach was developed. correlational, cross-sectional; All patients with tuberculosis who are in the tuberculosis prevention and control program of the La Libertad Health Center - San Juan de Lurigancho Lima were taken as a population, which is a total of 68 patients in both genders. Given the small population available, the sample includes the entire population. Results. The knowledge dimension of the disease of the level of knowledge with self-care practice, there is medium knowledge with inadequate self-care practice in 38.2%, both are related in 81%. The knowledge dimension of risk factors of the level of knowledge with self-care practice, there is high knowledge with inadequate self-care practice in 26.5%, both are related in 88%. The treatment knowledge dimension of the level of knowledge with self-care practice, there is medium knowledge with inadequate self-care practice in 33.8%, both are related in 57%. The knowledge dimension of prevention of the level of knowledge with self-care practice, there is medium knowledge with inadequate self-care practice in 32.4%, both are related in 77%. The level of knowledge with the practice of self-care, there is medium knowledge with inadequate practice of self-care in 46.6%, both are related in 55%.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación del nivel de conocimiento con la práctica de autocuidado en pacientes con tuberculosis que asisten al Centro de Salud La Libertad San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima 2023. Metodología: Se desarrolló enfoque de estudio cuantitativo, aplicado, no experimental, correlacional, de corte transversal; Se tomó como población a todos los pacientes con tuberculosis que se encuentran en el programa de prevención y control de la tuberculosis del Centro de Salud La Libertad - San Juan de Lurigancho Lima, que son un total de 68 pacientes en ambos géneros. Dada la pequeña población disponible, la muestra incluye a toda la población. Resultados. La dimensión conocimiento de la enfermedad del nivel de conocimiento con práctica de autocuidado, hay conocimiento medio con inadecuada práctica de autocuidado en 38.2%, ambos se relacionan en 81%. La dimensión conocimiento de factores de riesgo del nivel de conocimiento con práctica de autocuidado, hay conocimiento alto con inadecuada práctica de autocuidado en 26.5%, ambos se relacionan en 88%. La dimensión conocimiento de tratamiento del nivel de conocimiento con práctica de autocuidado, hay conocimiento medio con inadecuada práctica de autocuidado en 33.8%, ambos se relacionan en 57%. La dimensión conocimiento de prevención del nivel de conocimiento con practica de autocuidado, hay conocimiento medio con inadecuada practica de autocuidado en 32.4%, ambos se relacionan en 77%. El nivel de conocimiento con la práctica de autocuidado, hay conocimiento medio con inadecuada práctica de autocuidado en 42.6%, ambos se relacionan en 55%.
