Effectiveness of individual and group educational techniques with the use of teaching materials in learning about oral health in parents of children aged 6 to 13 in Lima, 2021

Abstract

Materials and Methods: This is an applied, quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, and prospective study. Knowledge was measured using a 20-question questionnaire, with each question valued at 1 point, classifying scores as Low (0–7 points), Regular (8–14 points), and High (15–17 points). Results: The sample consisted of 120 parents who received the questionnaire. The results showed that regarding the effectiveness of the educational techniques applied individually and in groups using teaching materials for learning oral health in parents of children aged 6 to 13 years in Lima, 2021, it was found that initially, most parents presented regular learning with 40%, and after applying the technique, 40% of participants achieved high learning. In group sessions, regular learning was observed initially, and after the technique, regular learning remained at 53.3%. The effectiveness of both individual and group educational techniques was significant, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). It was found that most participants aged 18 to 29 years and 30 to 59 years initially had regular knowledge, which improved to high knowledge after the intervention. Similarly, individuals with no formal education, primary, secondary, and technical or higher education began with regular knowledge, which improved to high knowledge after the application of the technique. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is effectiveness in both individual and group educational techniques with the use of teaching materials for learning oral health in parents of children aged 6 to 13 years in Lima, 2021.

Materiales y Métodos: Presenta una investigación de tipo aplicada, cuantitativa, descriptiva, transversal, y finalmente prospectiva. Se midió los conocimientos mediante un cuestionario de conformado por 20 preguntas, cada pregunta fue considerada con el valor de 1 punto dando una clasificación en Bajo de 0 a 7 puntos, Regular de 8 a 14 puntos, Alto de 15 a 17 puntos. Resultado: La presente muestra obtenida por 120 padres de familia que recibieron un cuestionario, los resultados demuestran que según la Eficacia de las técnicas educativas aplicadas de manera individual y grupal con el uso del material didáctico en el aprendizaje de la salud bucal en padres de niños de 6 a 13 años en Lima, 2021; se aprecia, que la eficacia de las técnicas educativas de manera individual, en mayoría al inicio presentaron aprendizaje regular con 40% y luego de aplicado la técnica el aprendizaje fue alto en un 40% de las participantes, en cuanto a la manera grupal, se observó de igual modo la aplicación de la técnica presentando un aprendizaje regular y luego de la técnica el aprendizaje fue regular en un 53.3%, al inicio de la aplicación , existe eficacia de las técnicas educativas individual y grupal; individual y grupal el p-Valor = 0.000 (p< 0.05); se encontró que en mayoría las personas de 18 a 29 años y de 30 a 59 años de edad presentaron un nivel de conocimiento de Regular al inicio de la aplicación y luego de la aplicación fue Alto; en cuanto al grado de instrucción tanto las clasificaciones de personas sin ninguna instrucción, con instrucción primaria, secundaria y técnica o superior empezaron el estudio presentaron un nivel Regular y luego de la aplicación fue alto, Conclusión: Se concluye que sí existe eficacia las técnicas educativas individual y grupal con el uso del material didáctico en el aprendizaje de la salud bucal en padres de niños de 6 a 13 años en Lima, 2021
