Level of knowledge and compliance with the safe surgery checklist in the surgical center of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute of Lima, 2023

Abstract

The problem addresses the aspects related to the knowledge and compliance with the Safe Surgery Checklist, in surgical nurses, since there are serious deficiencies that it is necessary to know more precisely, in order to avoid the risks that it may imply for patients due to adverse events or complications that can cause irreversible damage or death. OBJECTIVE: to determine how the level of knowledge is related to compliance with the Safe Surgery Checklist in the surgical center of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute of Lima, 2023. MATERIALS AND METHODS: the study will be quantitative, non-experimental - crosssectional and descriptive -correlational. 80 nursing professionals will participate. The chosen technique is the survey and two questionnaires will be applied, one that will allow the measurement of the level of knowledge variable and the second to measure compliance with the Safe Surgery Checklist.

La problemática aborda los aspectos referidos al conocimiento y cumplimiento de la Lista de Verificación de Cirugía Segura, en enfermeros quirúrgicos, pues existen serias deficiencias que es necesario conocer con mayor precisión, a fin de evitar los riesgos que puede implicar para los pacientes debido a eventos adversos o complicaciones que pueden generarle daños irreversibles o su fallecimiento. OBJETIVO: determinar cómo el nivel de conocimientos se relaciona con el cumplimiento de la Lista de Verificación de Cirugía Segura en el centro quirúrgico del Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal de Lima, 2023. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: el estudio será cuantitativo, no experimental - transversal y descriptivo correlacional. Participarán 80 profesionales de enfermería. La técnica elegida es la encuesta y se aplicarán dos cuestionarios, uno que permitirá hacer la medición de la variable nivel de conocimientos y el segundo para medir el cumplimiento de la Lista de Verificación de Cirugía Segura
