Knowledge and practices of self-care in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who enter the emergency service of the guillermo almenara irigoyen hospital, year 2021

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus should be understood as the metabolic disorder that involves a large number of etiologies, whose characteristic is chronic hyperglycemia mainly related to disturbances in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins

Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and self-care practices in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who enter the Emergency Service of the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Hospital, year 2021

Method: An investigation is proposed using the hypothetical-deductive method, which is based on the analysis of a group and then generalizing its results to more general situations. A sample was taken in the Emergency service, which serves an average of 15 patients per day with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, for which an approximate of 900 patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus are projected during the 2-month study period. In addition, two instruments were used which had a reliability through the Cronbach Alpha coefficient of 0.806, which demonstrates that the instrument is reliable. to determine the relationship between the study variables

Conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship between knowledge and self-care practice in adult patients with diabetes.

"La diabetes mellitus debe entenderse como el desorden metabólico que compromete un gran número de etiologías, cuya característica es una hiperglucemia crónica relacionada principalmente a disturbios en el metabolismo de los carbohidratos, grasas y proteínas Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y prácticas de autocuidado en pacientes con diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 que ingresan al servicio de Emergencia del Hospital Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen, año 2021 Método: Se propone una investigación mediante el método hipotético-deductivo, que se basa en el análisis de un grupo y luego generalizar sus resultados a situaciones más generales. Se tomó como muestra en el servicio de Emergencia, atiende en promedio un total de 15 paciente por día con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, por lo cual se proyecta un aproximado de 900 pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 durante el periodo de estudio de estudio de 2 meses. Además, se utilizó dos instrumentos la cual conto con una confiabilidad por medio del coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach de 0.806 que demuestran que el instrumento es confiable. para determinar la relación entre las variables de estudio Conclusión: Existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre el conocimiento y la práctica de autocuidado en pacientes adultos con diabetes."
