Knowledge and practice of nursing care in the neurodevelopment of the premature in a hospital in Lima, 2024

Abstract

The objective of this study will be “to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice of nursing care in the neurodevelopment of premature infants in a hospital in Lima - 2024”. Methodology: The present research employs a quantitative approach, using a cross-sectional design to examine correlations between variables. The sampling method used in this study will be non-probabilistic and for convenience. The research will cover an 80 nurse, during the period from march to May 2024. The data collection process will use a survey methodology and the observation sheet, the first composed of 20 questions. The first comprises 36 items and assesses the Care in the context of premature infants' neurodevelopment", while the second one evaluates the " level of understanding of nurse care in the neurodevelopment of premature babies." It is important to highlight that both instruments were validated in previous studies and adapted for application in the pediatric context.

El objetivo de este estudio será “determinar cuál es la relación entre el conocimientos y práctica del cuidado enfermera en el neurodesarrollo del prematuro en un hospital de Lima – 2024”. Metodología: La presente investigación emplea un enfoque cuantitativo, utilizando un diseño transversal para examinar correlaciones entre variables. El método de muestreo empleado en este estudio será no probabilístico y por conveniencia. La investigación abarcará una población de 80 enfermeras, durante el período marzo a mayo del 2024. El proceso de acopio de datos utilizará una metodología de encuesta y la ficha de observación, el primero compuesto por 20 preguntas que mide el “nivel de conocimiento del cuidado de la enfermera en el neurodesarrollo del prematuro” y la “práctica del cuidado de la enfermera en el neurodesarrollo del prematuro” compuesta por 32 ítems. Es importante destacar que ambos instrumentos fueron validados en estudios anteriores y adaptado para su aplicación en el contexto pediátrico.
