Knowledge and practice about the care of the patient with a nurse’s central venous catheter in the intensive care unit, San Juan de Lurigancho hospital, 2023

Abstract

The objective of the research will be to determine how the knowledge and practice of the nurse is related to the care of patients with central venous catheters in the intensive care unit of the San Juan de Lurigancho Hospital, Lima 2023. Therefore, the research will be developed under the method hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach, non-experimental and correlational design. As a sample, 50 nursing professionals will be taken. Regarding the instruments to be used, these will consist, for the first variable, of a Knowledge Questionnaire about CVC and for the second variable, a checklist that will measure nursing practice in patients with CVC through observation; On the other hand, as part of the results, these will be carried out through statistical analysis, first to know the findings at a descriptive level of both variables, presenting them in a frequency table and graphs. Likewise, to test the study hypotheses, correlation coefficients will be developed, which will be determined by means of the data normality test.

El objetivo de la investigación será determinar cómo se relaciona el conocimiento y práctica del enfermero en el cuidado del paciente con catéter venoso central en la unidad de cuidados intensivos del Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima 2023. Por tanto la investigación se desarrollará bajo el método hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental y correlacional. Como muestra se tomará a 50 profesionales de enfermería. Sobre los instrumentos a utilizar estos consistirán para la primera variable en un Cuestionario de conocimientos sobre CVC y para la segunda variable un lista de chequeo que medirá mediante la observación la práctica de enfermería en pacientes con CVC; por otro lado, como parte de los resultados estos se realizarán mediante el análisis estadístico, primero para conocer los hallazgos a nivel descriptivo de ambas variables presentando en tabla de frecuencias y gráficos. asimismo para la prueba de las hipótesis de estudio se desarrollará mediante coeficientes de correlación, la cual se determinará por medio de la prueba de normalidad de los datos.
