Effectiveness of nursing interventions to prevent perioperative complications

Abstract

The bibliographic search of the 11 scientific articles regarding the effectiveness of nursing interventions to prevent complications in the perioperative period resided in the databases of the BVS, Scielo, Medline and Ebsco, which were being evaluated according to the Grade scale for check the strength and quality of the evidence, the 35 manuscripts found from the last five years and only 11 studies compatible with the PICO question were selected, 73% ensure the effectiveness of nursing interventions for prevent complications, 18% say that nurses should anticipate the patient's needs and 9% say that there is not enough evidence in this regard. According to this assessment, nursing plays a very preponderant and relevant role in the perioperative stage since its interventions during this period are aimed at satisfying physical and emotional biological needs and this helps with the prevention of complications.

La búsqueda bibliográfica de los 11 artículos científicos respecto a la efectividad de las intervenciones de enfermería para prevenir complicaciones en el perioperatorio, residieron en las bases de datos de la BVS, Scielo, Medline y Ebsco, los cuales estuvieron siendo evaluados según el escalafón Grade para comprobar la fuerza y la calidad de la evidencia, los 35 manuscritos encontrados de los últimos cinco años y se seleccionaron solo 11 estudios compatibles a la pregunta PICO, 73% asegura la efectividad de las intervenciones de enfermería para prevenir complicaciones, el 18% dice que las enfermeras deben adelantarse a la necesidad del paciente y el 9% asegura que no existe evidencia suficiente al respecto. Según esta valoración, la enfermería juega un papel muy preponderante y relevante en la etapa perioperatoria ya que sus intervenciones durante este periodo están orientadas a la satisfacción de necesidades biológicas físicas y emocionales y esto ayuda con la prevención de complicaciones.
