Quality of nursing care and patient satisfaction in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the quality of nursing care and patient satisfaction in the intensive care area of a hospital in Lima. MATERIALS AND METHODS: It is a study with a quantitative, hypothetical/deductive approach, correlational descriptive, non-experimental design and cross section; The sample will be made up of 80 patients, who will be chosen through convenience sampling. The instrument that will be used to measure the Nursing Care Quality variable will be the SERVQUAL questionnaire, which assesses the expectation and perception of the patient, and the CARE questionnaire. Q. that will measure the patient satisfaction variable, both instruments previously validated for their reliability, for data collection an approximate time of 20 minutes will be used for each participant, these data will be coded automatically, all the information collected will be processed in Microsoft Excel 365 and a database will be developed in the SPSS computer program, to verify the hypothesis the Spearman correlation test will be used, which describes the relationship between two variables, the results will be presented in tables and graphs.

El presente estudio tiene como OBJETIVO Determinar cuál es la relación que existe entre la calidad de atención de enfermería y la satisfacción del paciente en el área de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Lima MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Es un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, hipotético/deductivo, descriptivo correlacional, diseño no experimental y corte transversal; La muestra estará conformada por 80 pacientes, los cuales serán elegidos a través del muestreo por conveniencia, el instrumento que se usará para medir la variable Calidad de Atención de Enfermería será el cuestionario SERVQUAL donde valora la expectativa y la percepción del paciente y el cuestionario CARE Q. que medirá la variable satisfacción del paciente, ambos instrumentos previamente validados por su confiabilidad, para la recolección de datos se empleará un tiempo aproximado de 20 minutos para cada participante, estos datos se codificarán de forma automatizada, se procesará toda la información recolectada en Microsoft Excel 365 y se elaborará una base de datos en el programa informático SPSS, para comprobar la hipótesis se utilizará el test de correlación de Spearman que describe la relación entre dos variables, los resultados se presentarán en tablas y gráficos.
