Level of knowledge and practice of the nursing professional on the management of the percutaneous catheter in the neonatal ICU service of the Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital -2022

Abstract

The present study called “Level of knowledge and practice of the nursing professional on the management of the percutaneous catheter in the Neonatal ICU service of the Villa el Salvador Emergency Hospital -2022”, its objective is to: Establish the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of the nursing professional on the management of the percutaneous catheter in the Neonatal ICU service. Percutaneous catheterization is a nursing procedure that constitutes a great challenge for these professionals, since it requires rigorous knowledge and safe practices; however, various studies have shown certain limitations that could affect patient safety, which is why it was decided to carry out this study. Material and Method: Application-type study, quantitative, correlational approach, non-experimental desing and cross-sectional approach. The total population considered 80 nursing professionals from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital during 2022. Three instruments were used: a questionnaire and two checklists.

“Nivel de conocimientos y la práctica del profesional de enfermería sobre el manejo del catéter percutáneo en el servicio de Uci Neonatal del Hospital de Emergencias Villa el Salvador- 2022”, tiene por objetivo: Establecer la relación entre el nivel de conocimientos y la práctica del profesional de enfermería sobre el manejo del catéter percutáneo en el servicio de Uci Neonatal. El cateterismo percutáneo es un proceder de Enfermería que constituye un gran reto para dichas profesionales pues exige de conocimientos rigurosos y prácticas seguras; sin embargo, en diversos estudios se han evidenciado ciertas limitaciones que podrían afectar la seguridad del paciente, por ello se decide realizar el presente estudio. Material y Método: Estudio de tipo aplicativo, de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y de alcance correlacional. La población total consideró a 80 profesionales de enfermería de la unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales del Hospital de Emergencias Villa el Salvador durante el 2022. Fueron usados tres instrumentos: un cuestionario y dos listas de cotejo.
