Working conditions and stress of nurses in the emergency service of the Guillermo Kaelin hospital complex, Lima - 2022

Abstract

Working conditions are a set of elements and risk factors in the environment that influence and affect the physical and mental health of nursing professionals, such as the appearance of stress when facing various demands during the development of their work, impacting the quality of care. Objective: to determine how working conditions are related to the stress of nurses in the emergency service of the Guillermo Kaelin hospital complex, Lima -2022. Methods: this study has a quantitative, observational, prospective, cross-sectional and correlational approach. The population and census sample that will participate in the study are 77 nurses who work in the Emergency Service. The technique to be applied is the survey with two validated instruments, the Nursing Working Conditions self-assessment questionnaire, which was developed by García et al., who checked the reliability with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.91; and the Nursing Stress Scale, developed by Gray-Toft and Anderson, later adapted to Spanish by Mas and Escribá with a Spearman-Brown internal consistency reliability of 0.79. The data collected will be analyzed with the inferential statistical test of the Spearman correlation coefficient.

Las condiciones de trabajo son conjunto de elementos y factores de riesgo del entorno que influyen y afectan la salud física y mental del Enfermería como es la aparición de cuadros de estrés cuando se enfrenta a diversas exigencias durante el desarrollo de su labor, repercutiendo en la calidad del cuidado. Objetivo: determinar cómo las condiciones de trabajo se relacionan con el estrés del Enfermero en el servicio de emergencia del complejo hospitalario Guillermo Kaelin, Lima -2022. Métodos: este estudio es de enfoque cuantitativo, observacional, prospectivo, transversal y correlacional. la población y muestra censal que participará en el estudio son 77 enfermeros que laboran en el servicio de Emergencia. la técnica a aplicar es la encuesta con dos instrumentos validados, el cuestionario de autoevaluación de Condiciones de Trabajo de Enfermería, el cual fue elaborado por García et al., quienes comprobaron la confiabilidad con un alfa de Cronbach de 0.91; y, la escala de estrés de enfermería “The Nursing Stress Scale”, elaborada por Gray-Toft y Anderson, adaptada posteriormente al español por Mas y Escribá con una confiabilidad de consistencia interna Spearman-Brown de 0.79. Los datos recolectados serán analizados con la prueba estadística inferencial del coeficiente de correlación de Spearman.
