Family functionality and quality of life in patients with hemodialysis treatment in a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Introduction: The fundamental unit of humanity is the family, which must be responsible for the fulfillment of basic functions such as biological, economic, educational, cultural and spiritual, for this reason the analysis of family functionality is an essential key in coping with stressful situations that a family member may go through, especially in those individuals on renal replacement therapy because the well-being of their health status is diminished, thus affecting their functionality. Objective: To determine the relationship between family functionality and quality of life of patients with hemodialysis treatment in a hospital in Lima 2023. Methods: This research will use the hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied specimen, correlational non-experimental design, the population and census sample is 120 patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment at the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen National Hospital. To collect the data, 2 validated questionnaires will be used: the family Apgar Test and the KDQOL - 36 questionnaire, which are valid and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha = 0.86 for the instrument of the first variable and a Cronbach's Alpha is > 0.7 for the instrument of the second variable, which will allow obtaining data that will be analyzed through the SPSS program in its version 25.0 and in the Excel program from which tables and graphs will be elaborated to carry out the due descriptive analysis as well as the analysis correlation by Spearman's Rho.

Introducción: La unidad fundamental de la humanidad es la familia, la cual debe ser responsable del cumplimiento de funciones básicas como son la biológica, económica, educativa, cultural y espiritual, por ello el análisis de la funcionalidad familiar es clave esencial en el afrontamiento de situaciones estresantes que pueda atravesar algún miembro de la familia, especialmente en aquellos individuos en terapia de reemplazo renal porque el bienestar de su estado de salud se ve mermada repercutiendo así en su funcionalidad. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre funcionalidad familiar y calidad de vida de pacientes con tratamiento de hemodiálisis en un hospital de Lima 2023. Métodos: esta investigación usará el método hipotético deductivo, de enfoque cuantitativo, de espécimen aplicada, de diseño no experimental correlacional, la población y la muestra censal es de 120 pacientes en tratamiento de hemodiálisis en el Hospital Nacional Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen. Para recolectar los datos se utilizará 2 cuestionarios validados el Test de Apgar familiar y el cuestionario KDQOL – 36, los cuales son válidos y confiables con un Alfa de Cronbach = 0,86 para el instrumento de la primera variable y un Alfa de Cronbach es >0,7 para el instrumento de la segunda variable, los cuales permitirán obtener datos que serán analizados mediante el programa SPSS en su versión 25.0 y en el programa Excel del cual se elaborarán tablas y gráficos para realizar el debido análisis descriptivo así como también el análisis de correlación por Rho de Spearman.
