Lifestyles and nutritional status in nursing students at the Norbert Wiener Private University of the VIII cycle, Lima, 2024

Abstract

Objective: Determine how lifestyles and nutritional status are related to nursing students at the Norbert Wiener University of the VIII cycle, Lima – Perú, 2024. Materials and methods: The present study had a quantitative approach; its methodological design was correlational transversal. The sample was made up of 148 university nursing students. The data collection technique was the survey and the instruments were the Lifestyles and BMI questionnaire. Results: 87.8% are women, 40.5% are aged 25 to 30 years, 33.8% are in normal nutritional status; asymism, 57.4% were overweight; y, 8.8% had obesity, 29.1% had an unhealthy lifestyle, and 70.9% had an unhealthy lifestyle. A relationship was found between food and nutritional status (p<0.05) there was a relationship between activity and exercise and nutritional status (p<0.05); there is a relationship between stress management and nutritional status (p<0.05) is reported; the relationship between support and interpersonal relationships and nutritional status is evident (p<0.05); the relationship between health responsibility and nutritional status was determined (p<0.05); a relationship was found between harmful substances and nutritional status (p<0.05). Conclusions: A significant relationship was found between the main variables of lifestyle and nutritional status.

Objetivo: Determinar cómo se relacionan los estilos de vida y el estado nutricional en los estudiantes de enfermería de la Universidad Norbert Wiener del VIII ciclo, Lima – Perú, 2024. Materiales y métodos: El método fue descriptivo -correlacional, la muestra fue de 148 estudiantes universitarios de enfermería. Resultados: el 87.8% son mujeres, el 40.5% tuvieron edad de 25 a 30 años, el 33.8% tuvieron estado nutricional normal; asimismo, el 57.4% tuvieron sobrepeso; y, el 8.8% tuvieron obesidad, el 29.1% tuvieron estilo de vida no saludable y el 70.9% tuvieron estilo de vida. Se encontró relación entre alimentación y estado nutricional (p<0.05) ; se encontró relación entre alimentación y estado nutricional (p<0.05) ; se halló relación entre la actividad y ejercicio y estado nutricional (p<0.05) ; existe relación entre el manejo de estrés y estado nutricional (p<0.05) ;se reporta la relación entre el descanso y sueño y estado nutricional (p<0.05) ; se evidencia la relación entre el apoyo y relaciones interpersonales y estado nutricional (p<0.05) ; se determinó relación entre la responsabilidad en salud y estado nutricional (p<0.05) ; se encontró relación entre las sustancias nocivas y estado nutricional (p<0.05) Conclusiones: Se encontró relación significativa entre las variables principales estilo de vida y estado nutricional.
