Knowledge level regarding COVID-19 patient care and its relationship with family stress at Mayo Medical Center, Santa Anita, Lima 2021

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge about caring for patients with COVID-19 and family stress at the Mayo Medical Center, Santa Anita, Lima 2021. Material and methods: This study was descriptive, correlational, prospective, cross-sectional with information from family members. Using this information, the percentages of level of knowledge and family stress were calculated. The level of knowledge was then categorized into low (0-10 points), intermediate (11-16 points), and high (17-20 points). The stress level is low (1-14 points), medium (15-28 points), high (29-42 points), and very high (43-56 points). Both instruments met the requirements of reliability, KR-20 knowledge level of 0.75 and Cronbach's alpha family stress 0.81.

Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre el cuidado del paciente con COVID-19 con el estrés familiar en el Centro Médico Mayo, Santa Anita, Lima 2021. Material y métodos: Este estudio fue descriptivo correlacional, prospectivo, transversal la información de los familiares. Usando dicha información, se calcularon los porcentajes de nivel de conocimiento y estrés familiar. Luego se categorizo en el nivel de conocimiento en bajo (0-10 puntos), intermedio (11-16 puntos), y alto (17-20 puntos). El nivel de estrés bajo (1-14 puntos), medio (15-28 puntos), alto (29-42 puntos), y muy alto (43-56 puntos). Ambos instrumentos cumplieron los requisitos de confiabilidad, nivel de conocimiento KR-20 de 0.75 y estrés familiar alfa de Cronbach 0.81.
