Knowledge and attitude of the nursing staff regarding the prevention of pressure injuries, intensive care unit of the Rezola hospital, Lima, 2022.

Abstract

Pressure injuries represent a public health problem that greatly affects patients who spend more time bedridden in a hospital, so it is important that nursing professionals have the necessary knowledge to provide good care to patients, and thus prevent their appearance. This is how the present research work will aim to determine the relationship between the knowledge and attitude of nursing staff towards the prevention of pressure injuries, Intensive Care Unit of Rezola Hospital, Lima, 2022. To do this, we will work with a methodology based on the deductive method, with a quantitative approach, of an applied type, and of a non-experimental design. The questionnaire adapted from the original English version called Pressure Injury Prevention Knowledge (PIPK) questionnaire will be applied to measure the variable knowledge about pressure injury prevention; and the Attitude toward Pressure Ulcer tool (APuP) questionnaire to measure the attitude variable. The study will be carried out taking into account the five principles of the Belmont report.

Las lesiones por presión representan un problema de salud pública que afecta en gran medida a los pacientes que pasan mayor tiempo postrados en la cama de un hospital, por lo que es importante que el Enfermería tenga el conocimiento necesario para realizar buenos cuidados a los pacientes, y así evitar su aparición. Es así como el presente trabajo de investigación tendrá como propósito determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y actitud del personal de enfermería frente a la prevención de lesiones por presión, Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Rezola, Lima, 2022. Para ello, se trabajará con una metodología basada en el método deductivo, de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, y de diseño no experimental. Se aplicará el cuestionario adaptado de la versión original en inglés llamado Pressure Injury Prevention Knowledge (PIPK) questionnaire para medir la variable conocimiento sobre prevención de lesiones por presión; y el cuestionario Attitude toward Pressure Ulcer tool (APuP) para medir la variable actitud. El estudio se realizará tomando en cuenta los cinco principios del informe de Belmont.
