Knowledge and practice in nurses on the care of polytraumatised patients in the emergency service of a private clinic, Lima-2023

Abstract

A polytraumatized patient is a person with injuries resulting from damage to two or more organs, or a person with at least one life-threatening injury that poses a serious risk to life. In this sense, nurses should base their actions or treatment on a series of considerations that depend mostly on the level of consciousness of polytraumatized patients at the time of admission to the emergency unit. For this reason, the general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between knowledge of care of polytraumatized patients and the practice of nurses in the emergency department of a private clinic, Lima-2023. Materials and Methods: The present research is applied, quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional and non-experimental, which will allow us to obtain the expected results according to the proposed objectives. Population of 80 nurses from the Emergency Department. Likewise, a survey/questionnaire and an observation technique/observation chart will be used to measure these variables, respectively. With due validation and adaptation of the work of Moscaiza (2021). To evaluate the validity of the questionnaire, the binomial test will be used, with a value of 0.806 and the validity of the observation guide of the practice, the multiple point distance test will be used, with a value of 0.895. The Microsoft Excel application will be used to code and digitize the data acquired and will be exported to the SPSS Version 25 statistical program for data analysis.

El paciente politraumatizado presenta lesiones como consecuencia de daños en dos o más órganos, o que presenta al menos una lesión potencialmente mortal que supone un grave riesgo para la vida. En este sentido, el personal de enfermería debe basar su actuación o tratamiento en una serie de consideraciones al momento de su ingreso en la unidad de Emergencia, por este motivo esta investigación tiene como Objetivo general: Determinar la relación que existe entre el conocimiento sobre cuidados del paciente politraumatizado y la práctica en enfermeros del Servicio de Emergencia de una Clínica Privada, Lima-2023. Materiales y Métodos: La investigación es aplicada, cuantitativa, correlacional de corte transversal y no experimental, la cual permitirá obtener resultados esperados de acuerdo a los objetivos planteados. Población de 80 enfermeros del servicio de la Emergencia. Para medir estas variables se utilizará un cuestionario y una ficha de observación, respectivamente. Con la debida validación y adaptación propia del trabajo de Moscaiza (2021). Para evaluar la validez del cuestionario se utilizará la prueba binomial, con valor de 0,806 y la validez de la guía de observación de la práctica se utilizará la prueba de distancia de puntos múltiples, un valor de 0,895.
