Level of knowledge in management and care of port-a-cath catheter in students of the second specialty of oncology at the Norbert Wiener University.

Abstract

Long-term venous accesses such as the port a cath catheter in oncology patients are essential since there begins the administration of cytostatics and the ease for different laboratories since it can reduce the pain caused each time the patient must be punctured, helps to take care of the peripheral routes and to avoid constant catheterization, this port a cath catheter is for exclusive use of nursing, that is why said personnel must have the necessary and precise knowledge to provide the necessary care to provide quality care at all times; The objective of this study is to determine the "level of knowledge in management and care of port - a - cath catheter in second specialty students of oncology at Norbert Wiener University", this research is of quantitative approach, in terms of methodological design it is a descriptive research, the population will be made up of students of the second specialty. The technique to be used in the field work will be the survey, with which knowledge can be measured. A questionnaire of 25 closed questions will be used that consists of prevention, use and maintenance of the port-a-cath catheter.

Los accesos venosos de larga duración como el catéter port a cath en pacientes oncológicos son indispensables ya que ahí parte la administración de citostáticos y la facilidad para los diferentes laboratorios ya que la puede disminuir el dolor que causa cada vez que se debe pinchar al paciente, ayuda a cuidar las vías periféricas y a evitar la cateterización constante, este catéter port a cath es de uso exclusivo de enfermería, es por ello que dicho personal debe tener los conocimientos necesarios y precisos para proporcionar los cuidados necesarios para brindar un cuidado de calidad en todo momento; el objetivo de este estudio es determinar el “nivel de conocimiento en manejo y cuidados de catéter port - a - cath en estudiantes de segunda especialidad de oncología de la universidad Norbert Wiener”, esta investigación es de enfoque cuantitativo, en cuanto al diseño metodológico es una investigación de corte descriptiva, la población estará constituida por los estudiantes de la segunda especialidad. la técnica por utilizarse en el trabajo de campo será la encuesta, con la cual podrá medir el conocimiento, se utilizará un cuestionario de 25 preguntas cerradas que consta de prevención, uso y mantenimiento del catéter port a cath.
