Level of knowledge and its relationship with breastfeeding practices of mothers with children under 06 months of age, San Genaro-Chorrillos-Lima Health Center, 2022

Abstract

Objetive. To analyze the relationship of the level of knowledge with the breastfeeding practices of mothers with children under 06 months of age, San Genaro Chorrillos Lima 2022 Health Center. Materials and methods: The work has a quantitative approach, the methodological design is descriptive and cross-section. The study has non-probabilistic sampling, in a census form, of 106 subjects made up of mothers with children under 06 months of age, who attend the Health Center, the total population has been taken because according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results. It was found that there is half knowledge in 71% with poor breastfeeding practices, followed by regular practices in 65%, which is related in 67%. Regarding the relationship of the level of knowledge in its concept of breastfeeding, there is half knowledge in 83% with poor breastfeeding practices, followed by optimal practices in 58%, related in 71%. There is half knowledge in its dimension benefits of breastfeeding in 66% with poor breastfeeding practices, followed by regular practices in 63% and optimal practices in 53% and related in 51%. The technical dimension of breastfeeding with breastfeeding practices is half knowledge in 56% with regular breastfeeding practices, followed by poor practices in 41% and optimal breastfeeding practices in 33% and related in 82%. There is half knowledge in its dimension manual extraction of breast milk in 60% with regular breastfeeding practices, followed by optimal practices in 40% and with low knowledge in relation to 49%.

Objetivo. Analizar la relación del nivel de conocimiento con las prácticas de lactancia de las madres con niños menores de 06 meses de edad, Centro de Salud San Genaro Chorrillos Lima 2022. Materiales y métodos: El trabajo tiene enfoque cuantitativo, el diseño metodológico es descriptivo y de corte transversal. El estudio tiene muestreo no probabilístico, de forma censal, de 106 sujetos conformados por madres con niños menores de 06 meses de edad, que acuden al Centro de Salud, se ha tomado la población total porque de acuerdo a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Resultados. Se encontró que existe medio conocimiento en 71% con prácticas de lactancia deficientes, seguida de prácticas regulares en 65%, el cual está relacionada en 67%. Sobre la relación del nivel de conocimiento en su dimensión concepto de lactancia materna existe medio conocimiento en 83% con prácticas de lactancia deficientes, seguida de prácticas optimas en 58%, relacionada en 71%. Hay medio conocimiento en su dimensión beneficios de lactancia materna en 66% con prácticas de lactancia deficientes, seguida de prácticas regulares en 63% y prácticas optimas en 53% y relacionada en 51%.
