dc.description.abstractThe World Health Organization urges that the umbilical stump be kept free from secretions or other contaminating agents, dry, and without bandages or gauze that could delay healing. As for chlorhexidine, it is important to know that it is the antiseptic of choice for hospital care of the umbilical cord. It has been used for many years in healthcare settings to reduce the risk of infections. Its broad spectrum makes it effective against the microorganisms commonly responsible for perinatal infections.en_US
dc.description.abstractLa Organización Mundial de la Salud exhorta a conservar el muñón umbilical libre de secreciones u otros agentes contaminantes, sin humedad y sin vendas ni gasas que puedan retrasar la cicatrización. En cuanto a la clorhexidina, debemos saber que es el antiséptico de elección para el cuidado hospitalario del cordón umbilical. Ha sido utilizada durante muchos años en el entorno sanitario para reducir el riesgo de infecciones. Su amplio espectro la hace efectiva contra los microorganismos que comúnmente provocan las infecciones perinatales.es_ES
