Effectiveness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the probability of survival in emergency cardiac arrest patients

Abstract

Objective: To classify investigations related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the probability of survival in patients with cardiac arrest in emergency. Materials and Methods: Systematic observational and retrospective study, the exploration was directed towards complete scientific articles and they were subjected to a critical review, using the Grade evaluation to identify the level of evidence; getting 10 items. Of 100% of these studies, 40% correspond to Colombia and China, and 60% to Cuba, South Korea, the United States and Spain. All of them were found in the following databases: Cochrane, Pubmed, Scielo, Google Scholar. All of these articles belong to the quantitative type and due to their research design they are systematic reviews, randomized controlled studies and analytical cross-sectional studies. Results: Of the 10 articles chosen, 100% showed that CPR is effective in the survival of the adult patient in an emergency or during an emergency. Conclusions: CPR is effective in survival when the signs and symptoms that precede cardiorespiratory arrest are recognized and act immediately to perform chest compressions immediately.

Objetivo: Clasificar las pesquisas referentes a la reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP) en la probabilidad de supervivencia en el paciente con parada cardiaca en emergencia. Materiales y Métodos: Estudio sistemático observacional y retrospectivo, la exploración se direccionó hacia artículos científicos completos y fueron sometidos a una revisión crítica, usando la evaluación de Grade para identificar el nivel de evidencia; obteniendo 10 artículos. Del 100% de estos estudios, el 40% corresponden Colombia y China, y el 60% a Cuba, Corea del Sur, Estados Unidos y España. Todos fueron encontraron en las siguientes bases de datos: Cochrane, Pubmed, Scielo, Google académico todos estos artículos pertenecen al tipo cuantitativo y por su diseño de investigación son revisiones sistemáticas, estudios controlados aleatorizados y transversal analítico. Resultados: De los 10 artículos electos, el 100% evidenciaron que la RCP es efectiva en la supervivencia del paciente adulto en emergencia o durante una emergencia. Conclusiones: La RCP es efectiva en la supervivencia cuando se reconocen los signos y síntomas que anteceden a un paro cardiorespiratorio y actuar de forma inmediata en realizar compresiones torácicas forma inmediata.
