Quality of life related to health and resilience in high school adolescents at the Educational Institution Fe y Alegría 32, San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima – 2018

Abstract

The study has a quantitative approach, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 623 adolescents. The KIDSCREEN-27 health-related quality of life questionnaire and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) were used. Health-related quality of life was at a medium level, with the highest-scoring dimension being the school environment and the lowest-scoring dimension being psychological well-being. Resilience was also at a medium level. Among the dimensions, the highest score was for control under pressure, and the lowest was for control and purpose. The Spearman bivariate correlation statistical test yielded a coefficient of +0.607, indicating a statistically significant strong direct proportional relationship between the two variables. There is a positive, strong, and statistically significant relationship between health-related quality of life and resilience.

El estudio es de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, correlacional y de corte transversal. La población fue de 623 adolescentes. Se utilizó el cuestionario de calidad de vida relacionado con la salud KIDSCREEN-27 y la escala de resiliencia de Connor- Davidson CD-RISC. Con respecto a la calidad de vida relacionada a la salud fue de un nivel medio, la dimensión con más alto puntaje fue entorno escolar y la que presento menor puntaje fue bienestar psicológico. La resiliencia fue de nivel medio. En cuanto a las dimensiones, el más alto puntaje fue control bajo presión y la de menor puntaje fue control y propósito. La prueba estadística de correlación bivariada de Spearman obtuvo un coeficiente de +0,607, indicando una relación directamente proporcional fuerte estadísticamente significativa entre ambas variables. Existe una relación positiva, fuerte y estadísticamente significativa entre calidad de vida relacionada a la salud y resiliencia.
