Knowledge of the nursing professional in the management of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) in the neonatal intensive care unit, San Juan Bautista hospital, Huaral 2021

Abstract

Premature babies are usually admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, due to their long hospital stay they require the use of long-term venous access devices. The peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) is an advance in long-stay intravenous therapy and its use is currently increasing, it is more comfortable for the patient, fewer punctures and complications, its insertion is performed by a Nurse. Objective: To determine the Level of Knowledge of the Nursing professional in the management of the peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC), in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit San Juan Bautista Hospital - Huaral 2021 Methods: The descriptive, quantitative and cross-sectional study. The population and sample will be made up of 12 Nurses specialized in Neonatal Intensive Care, who work in the NICU, in the third quarter of 2021 The instrument: the Likert-type questionnaire with 26 closed questions. data analysis: using tables and graphs, using the Microsoft Excel program.

Los prematuros por lo general, son ingresados a la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatal, debido a su larga estadía en hospitalización requieren el uso de dispositivos de acceso venoso de larga duración. El catéter central de inserción periférica (PICC), es un avance en la terapia intravenosa de larga permanencia y su uso actualmente está aumentando, es de mayor comodidad para el paciente, menos punciones e complicaciones, su inserción es realizada por una Enfermera. Objetivo: Determinar el Nivel de Conocimiento del Enfermería en el manejo del catéter central de inserción periférica (PICC), en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales Hospital San Juan Bautista - Huaral 2021 Métodos: El estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo y transversal. la población y muestra estará formado por 12 Enfermeras especialistas en Cuidados Intensivos Neonatal, que trabajan en la UCIN, en el tercer trimestre del 2021 El instrumento: el cuestionario tipo Likert de 26 preguntas cerradas. el análisis de datos: mediante tablas y gráficos, mediante el programa Microsoft Excel.
