Knowledge about immunizations and compliance with vaccines in children from 1 to under 5 years of age at the Mirones Alto Health Center, Lima 2019

Abstract

Objective: Determine the level of knowledge about immunizations and compliance with vaccines in children from 1 to under 5 years of age at the Mirones Alto Health Center, Lima 2019. The material and study method that was used to carry out this research was the quantitative approach, with a descriptive level of non-experimental cross-sectional design type. The sample was made up of 100 mothers of children from 1 to under 5 years old, who went to the immunization area of ​​the Mirones Alto Health Center, Lima 2019. The survey technique was applied and the instrument was a questionnaire made up of 19 questions; in addition to a checklist to validate compliance with vaccination. For the respective analysis, the descriptive statistical test of frequencies was used. Having as results that the mothers present a medium level of knowledge with 51% and a high level of knowledge with 49%, in terms of compliance with vaccination, 59% do not comply, while 41% comply according to the vaccination schedule. Reaching the conclusion that there is a relationship between the independent variable knowledge and the dependent variable compliance.

Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre inmunizaciones y el cumplimiento de las vacunas en niños de 1 a menores de 5 años en el Centro De Salud Mirones Alto, Lima 2019. El material y método de estudio que se empleó para la elaboración de esta investigación fue el enfoque cuantitativo, con un nivel descriptivo de tipo de diseño no experimental de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo constituida por 100 madres de familia de niños de 1 a menores de 5 años, que acudieron al área de inmunizaciones del Centro de Salud Mirones Alto, Lima 2019. Se aplicó la técnica de encuesta y el instrumento fue un cuestionario constituido por 19 preguntas; además de una lista de verificación para validad el cumplimiento de la vacunación. Para el análisis respectivo se empleó la prueba estadística descriptivos frecuencias. Teniendo como resultados que las madres presentan un nivel de conocimiento medio con 51% y un nivel de conocimiento alto con 49%, en cuanto al cumplimiento de la vacunación el 59% no cumple, mientras que el 41% cumple según esquema de vacunación. Llegando a la conclusión que existe relación de la variable independiente conocimiento sobre la variable dependiente cumplimiento.
