dc.description.abstract	Dentomaxillary disorders have become the third most common pathology in the oral cavity, generally caused by poor habits. Objectives: To relate dentomaxillary disorders and oral habits in the dentition of students at IEA Salvador, 2017. Materials and Methods: This was an observational, prospective, cross-sectional, and analytical study. The sample consisted of 300 students aged 6 to 12 years from the Adventist Educational Institution Salvador, Lima 2017, who met the inclusion criteria. Dentomaxillary disorders were recorded in a clinical sheet, and oral habits were assessed through a survey answered by the parents. Results: The study found that dentomaxillary disorders were associated with non-nutritive sucking, mouth breathing, and onychophagia habits. It was also found that the atypical swallowing habit (0.11%), age (0.59%), gender (0.14%), and type of dentition (0.31%) were not associated with dentomaxillary disorders. Conclusions: The study concluded that age, gender, and type of dentition did not show any association with dentomaxillary disorders. Additionally, there was no relationship between intermaxillary dentomaxillary disorders and the atypical swallowing habit. However, there was a relationship between intermaxillary dentomaxillary disorders and the habits of non-nutritive sucking, onychophagia, and mouth breathing. Furthermore, a significant association was found between intramaxillary disorders and the habits of non-nutritive sucking, onychophagia, mouth breathing, and atypical swallowing.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Las alteraciones dentomaxilares se han posicionado como la tercera patología de la cavidad bucodental que generalmente son originados por malos hábitos. OBJETIVOS: Relacionar las alteraciones dentomaxilares y los hábitos bucales en dentición de alumnos de la IEA Salvador Lima 2017. MATERIALES Y METODOS: Se realizó una investigación de tipo observacional, prospectivo, transversal y analítico. La muestra estuvo conformada por 300 alumnos de 6 a 12 años de la Institución Educativa Adventista Salvador, Lima 2017 que cumplían con los criterios de inclusión. Las alteraciones dentomaxilares fueron registradas en una ficha clínica y los hábitos bucales mediante una encuesta que los padres contestaron. RESULTADOS: En este estudio se encontró que las alteraciones dentomaxilares están en función a los hábitos de succión no nutritiva, respirador bucal y onicofagia. También se obtuvo que el habito de deglución atípica con un 0.11%, la edad con un 0.59%, el género con un 0.14% y el tipo de dentición con un 0.31% no se presentan asociación con las alteraciones dentomaxilares. CONCLUSIONES: Finalmente se obtuvo que la edad, el género y el tipo de dentición no presenten ninguna asociación con las alteraciones dentomaxilares. También se encontró que entre las alteraciones dentomaxilares intermaxilar y el hábito de deglución atípica no hay relación. Sin embargo si existe relación entre las alteraciones dentomaxilares intermaxilar y los hábitos de succión no nutritiva, onicofagia y respirador bucal. Por otro lado también se encontró asociación entre las alteraciones intramaxilares y los hábitos de succión no nutritiva, onicofagia, respirador bucal y deglución atípica.	es_ES
