Falls are an important public health problem, the mortality rate in older adults is 30%. The objective of this work is to analyze the relationship between the determining factors and the risk of falls in older adults who attend a Jesús María Health Center in the second semester, Lima. This work is hypothetical deductive, quantitative, descriptive correlational with a non-experimental design. The determining factors for the risk of falls are divided into two large groups: intrinsic, they are related to biological and psychosocial changes associated with aging; and extrinsic, which results from the interaction with the environment, such as the quality of the floor and the lighting at home, among others, and the risk of falls is an involuntary event that results in the loss of balance directed to the ground, leading to injuries that can deteriorate health or death in some cases, they are usually sudden, involuntary and unsuspected and can be reported by the patient or a witness, since they are the most frequent causes of loss of functionality in those over 60 years of age, and are also associated with a high degree of morbidity and mortality in society.
Resumen
Las caídas son un importante problema de salud pública, la tasa de mortalidad en los adultos mayores son un 30%. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo Analizar la relación entre los factores determinantes y el riesgo de caídas en adultos mayores que asisten a un Centro de Salud Jesús María en el segundo semestre, Lima. Este trabajo es de tipo hipotético deductivo, cuantitativo, descriptivo correlacional con un diseño no experimental. Los factores determinantes para el riego de caídas se dividen en dos grandes grupos: intrínsecos, son propios relacionados con cambios biológicos y psicosociales asociados con el envejecimiento; y extrínseco, que resulta de la interacción con el medio ambiente, como la calidad del piso y la iluminación en casa, entre otros y el riesgo de caídas son suceso involuntario que tiene como resultado la perdida de equilibrio dirigido al suelo llegando a lesiones que pueden deteriorar la salud o la muerte en algunos casos, suelen ser repentina, involuntaria e insospechada y puede ser notificadas por el paciente o un testigo, ya que son las causas más frecuentes de pérdida de funcionalidad en los mayores de 60 años, y además están asociadas a un alto grado de morbimortalidad en la sociedad.
