Safety culture and safe surgery checklist of the surgical nursing team of a national hospital category III - 2, Lima-2024

Abstract

Introduction: The research focuses on the safety culture and LVCS of the surgical team. The importance of this research is underpinned by the obligation to ensure quality surgical care, reduce the risk of adverse events and promote best practice in surgery. Through the use of scientific and statistical evidence, the aim is to identify gaps in the application of safety culture and CSVL, and to make recommendations to improve surgical practice and safeguard the life of the user. Objective: To determine the relationship between safety culture and the safe surgery checklist of the surgical nursing team. Methods: This study will use the hypothetico-deductive method, with a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational scope. The population is made up of 75 nurses from the surgical team; two instruments will be applied, the "Surgical team safety culture questionnaire" which has 42 items measured on a Likert scale and 5 dimensions; likewise, the "Patient safe surgery checklist data record sheet" with 19 questions and 3 dimensions.

Introducción: La investigación se centra en la cultura de seguridad y la LVCS del equipo quirúrgico. La importancia de esta investigación se sustenta en la obligación de garantizar un cuidado quirúrgico de calidad, reducir el riesgo de acontecimientos adversos y promover las mejores prácticas en cirugía. Mediante el uso de evidencias científicas y estadísticas, la finalidad es identificar lagunas en la aplicación de la cultura de seguridad y la LVCS; así como, formular recomendaciones para mejorar la práctica quirúrgica y salvaguardar la vida del usuario. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la cultura de seguridad con la lista de verificación de cirugía segura del equipo quirúrgico de enfermería. Métodos: Este estudio empleará el método hipotético-deductivo, con carácter cuantitativo, no experimental, corte transeccional y alcance correlacional. La población está conformada por 75 enfermeras del equipo quirúrgico; se aplicarán dos instrumentos, el “Cuestionario sobre cultura de seguridad del equipo quirúrgico” que tiene 42 ítems medidos en una escala Likert y 5 dimensiones; asimismo, la “Ficha de registro de datos sobre lista de verificación de cirugía segura del paciente” con 19 preguntas y 3 dimensiones.
