Work load and its relationship with stress of the nursing professional in the emergency area of the José Casimiro Ulloa emergency hospital, 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the workload and the stress of the nursing professional in the emergency area of the José Casimiro Ulloa Emergency Hospital, 2023. Methodology: This study has a basic quantitative approach, cross-sectional with a nonexperimental and correlational design. The population is made up of 70 nursing graduates who work in the emergency room of the José Casimiro Ulloa Hospital according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The survey technique and two measurement instruments were used: the Workload Assessment Scale and the Stress Scale. Of nursing NSS the same ones that have a reliability of Cronbach's Alpha equivalent to 0.966 and 0.964 respectively. For the data analysis, a database was formulated in Excel, where the descriptive analysis was developed using tables and graphs according to each variable and dimension, and for the inferential analysis, the Spearman correlation coefficient was applied to determine the relationship between variables. . Results: In contrast to the General hypothesis, a bilateral significance index of 0.000 is evidenced, which is less than the level of 0.05 expected for this analysis. Conclusion: It is determined that, if there is a moderate statistical relationship, a positive trend, between the workload and work stress of the nursing professional in the emergency area of the José Casimiro Ulloa Hospital, 2023. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre carga laboral con el estrés del profesional de enfermería en el área de emergencia del Hospital de emergencia José Casimiro Ulloa, 2023.Métododología: Este estudio tiene enfoque cuantitativo de tipo básico, de corte transversal con diseño no experimental y correlacional. La población está constituida por 70 licenciados de enfermería que laboran en la emergencia del Hospital José Casimiro Ulloa según criterios de inclusión y exclusión .Se empleó la técnica de la encuesta y dos instrumentos de medición la Escala de valorización de carga laboral y la Escala de estrés de enfermería NSS los mismos que cuentan con una confiabilidad de Alfa de Cronbach equivalente a 0.966 y 0,964 respectivamente. Para el análisis de datos se formuló una base de datos en Excel, donde el análisis descriptivo se desarrolló mediante tablas y gráficos según cada variable y dimensión, y para el análisis inferencial, se aplicó el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman para determinar la relación entre variables. Resultados: En contrastación de la hipótesis General, se evidencia un índice de significancia bilateral de 0,000 que es menor al nivel de 0,05 previsto para este análisis. Conclusión: Se determina que, si existe relación estadística significativa moderada, tendencia positiva, entre carga laboral y estrés laboral del profesional de enfermería en el área de emergencia del Hospital José Casimiro Ulloa, 2023.
