Level of knowledge about an earthquake and the attitude of the nursing professional in the emergency department of a hospital of the Ministry of Health of Lima - 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Worldwide, cities are constantly shaking indistinctly and this does not cease and does not distinguish social classes. Earthquakes leave irreparable damage, not only physical and structural but also financial. That is why the nursing professional must be prepared in terms of knowledge to be able to develop favorable attitudes towards the nation in the event of such an emergency. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about an earthquake and the attitude of the nursing professional in the emergency service of a hospital of the Ministry of Health of Lima in 2023. Methodology: It is an applied research study, quantitative approach, hypothetical-deductive method, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational level. It was made up of 60 nursing professionals. Two questionnaires were used to measure the variables. The data collected will be entered into a database of SPSS version 26 software, a statistical analysis will also be carried out, showing the results descriptively by means of frequency tables. Finally, Pearson's significance test will be performed on the study variables to corroborate the hypothesis initially proposed.

Introducción: A nivel mundial, las ciudades tiemblan constantemente indistintamente y es que esto, no cesa ni distingue clases sociales. Los sismos, cada vez dejan daños irreparables no sólo físicos y estructurales sino también financieros. Es por ello, que el profesional en enfermería debe estar preparado en cuanto a conocimientos para poder desarrollar actitudes favorables hacia la nación en donde se suscite una emergencia como esta. Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre un sismo y la actitud del profesional de enfermería en el servicio de emergencia de un hospital del Ministerio de Salud de Lima en el 2023. Metodología: Es un estudio de investigación de tipo aplicado, enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético deductivo, diseño no experimental, corte transversal y nivel correlacional. Estuvo conformada por 60 profesionales especialistas en enfermería. Se hizo uso de dos cuestionarios para medir las variables. Los datos recopilados serán ingresados en una base de datos de software SPSS versión 26, se llevará a cabo también un análisis estadístico, demostrando de manera descriptiva los resultados mediante tablas de frecuencias. Finalmente; se realizará la prueba de significancia de Pearson de las variables de estudio, para corroborar la hipótesis planteada inicialmente.
