Level of self-care and quality of life of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment at IPRESS Neovital, Barranca – 2023

Abstract

This research project will present a study that aims to “Determine how the level of self-care is related to the quality of life of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment.” It will have a hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied and with a non-experimental design. The population is 84 patients who attend their hemodialysis treatment at the IPRESS Neovital in Barranca. The instruments that will be applied, for both variables, are surveys. For the level of self-care variable, an instrument from Constantino from 1996 and Cabrera from 2012 will be used, which was later modified by Sullon in Peru in 2019; which was validated by 4 experts and has a Cronbach's Alpha reliability with a result of 0.87. For the quality-of-life variable, an instrument developed by Erika Magaly Alarcón Nuñez in 2015 and modified by Lliuyacc Quispe Adelaida Victoria in Peru in 2019 will be used; which was validated by 5 experts and has a Cronbach's Alpha reliability with a result of 0.86. The information collected will be processed using the SPSS 27.0 statistical package and inferential statistics will be applied to test the hypothesis proposed in this study, through the Spearman Rho test.

Este proyecto de investigación, presentará un estudio que tiene como objetivo “Determinar como el nivel de autocuidado se relaciona con la calidad de vida de los pacientes con tratamiento de hemodiálisis”. Tendrá un método hipotético-deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada y con un diseño no experimental. La población es de 84 pacientes que acuden a su tratamiento de hemodiálisis en la IPRESS Neovital de Barranca. Los instrumentos que se aplicaran, para ambas variables, son encuestas. Para la variable nivel de autocuidado, se utilizará un instrumento de Constantino del 1996 y Cabrera del 2012, que luego fue modificado por Sullon en Perú en el año 2019; el cual fue validado por 4 expertos y tiene con una confiabilidad de Alfa de Cronbach con resultado de 0.87. Para la variable calidad de vida, se utilizará un instrumento elaborado por Erika Magaly Alarcón Nuñez en el 2015 y modificado por Lliuyacc Quispe Adelaida Victoria en Perú en el año 2019; el cual fue validado por 5 expertos y tiene una confiabilidad de Alfa de Cronbach con resultado de 0.86. La información recolectada será procesada mediante el paquete estadístico SPSS 27.0 y se aplicará la estadística inferencial para comprobar la hipótesis propuesta en este estudio, a través de la prueba Rho de Spearman.
