Level of knowledge about breastfeeding in postpartum mothers, from the neonatology service of the Puquio support hospital, 2021

Abstract

For the World Health Organization, breastfeeding is the means by which the child is fed in its beginnings, it has the necessary nutrients for adequate growth, being the only source of food during the first six months of life, Breast milk contains live cells such as macrophages, neutrophils, lymphocytes and epithelial cells, they are absorbed in the intestine, provides 50% of calories, they contain essential fatty acids that benefit the nervous system as well as the development of the brain and eyesight. The study aims to "describe the level of knowledge about breastfeeding in postpartum mothers at the Puquio Support Hospital, 2021. The quantitative approach, descriptive and cross-sectional design, the study population will be made up of postpartum mothers who are hospitalized in the joint accommodation service of the Puquio hospital, during the month of November, the questionnaire will be used as an instrument, with its survey technique validated by Palomino, in 2019 and consists of 14 items, with two dimensions of general knowledge and specific knowledge. Likewise, for reliability, the statistical test called "Kuder Richardon" was used, yielding a result of 0.64, which implies that it is highly reliable.

Para la organización Mundial de la Salud, la lactancia materna, es el medio por el cual el niño es alimentado en sus inicios, posee nutrientes necesarios para un adecuado crecimiento, siendo la única fuente de alimento durante los seis primeros meses de vida, la leche materna contiene células vivas como Macrófagos, neutrófilos, linfocitos y células epiteliales, se absorben en el intestino, brinda el 50% de calorías, contienen ácidos grasos esenciales que favorecen al sistema nervioso como al desarrollo del cerebro y vista. El estudio tiene como objetivo “describir el nivel de conocimiento sobre la lactancia materna en las madres puérperas en el Hospital de Apoyo Puquio, 2021”. El enfoque de tipo cuantitativo, diseño descriptivo y de corte transversal, la población de estudio estará constituida por madres puérperas que se encuentran hospitalizadas en el servicio de alojamiento conjunto del hospital de Puquio, durante el mes de noviembre, como instrumento se utilizará el cuestionario, con su técnica la encuesta validada por Palomino, en el 2019 y consta de 14 ítems, con dos dimensiones conocimiento general y conocimiento específico. Asimismo, para la confiabilidad se empleó la prueba estadística denominada “Kuder Richardon” arrojando un resultado de 0.64 lo que implica que es altamente confiable.
