Effectiveness of cleaning and disinfecting the laryngoscope in a surgical center to reduce complications due to infections

Abstract

Objective: Systematize evidence on the Effectiveness of cleaning and disinfection of the laryngoscope in a Surgical Center to reduce complications due to infections. Materials and Methods: The systematic review consists of 10 scientific articles. According to the type of study design, 50% (n=5/10) is a systematic review, 30% (n=3/10) is an experimental study, 10% (n=1/10) is a cohort study and 10% is a cohort study. (n=1/10) descriptive study, which agrees with the expected result in the present study. According to the quality of evidence, it was found to be high in 80%, moderate in 10% and low in another 10%, depending on the country where the investigations were carried out, they were 30% in Brazil, 30% in the United States, 30% India and 10% Turkey. To find these studies, the following scientific research search engines were used: Epistemonikos, Researchgate, Pubmed and Google academic. Results: Of the 10 investigations analyzed, it is evident that 70% (7/10) demonstrate the Effectiveness of cleaning and disinfecting the laryngoscope in the Surgical Center to reduce complications due to infections. Conclusions: According to the research analyzed, it was obtained that 70% (n = 7/10) of the 10 articles demonstrate that there is effectiveness of cleaning and disinfection of the laryngoscope in the Surgical Center for the reduction of complications due to infections and 30% ( n=3/10) show the cleaning and disinfection of the laryngoscope in the Surgical Center as ineffective in reducing complications due to infections, therefore, it is recommends using disposable laryngoscope blades to help reduce the spread of nosocomial infections, thus avoiding complications.

Objetivo: Sistematizar evidencias sobre la Efectividad de la limpieza y desinfección del laringoscopio en Centro Quirúrgico para la disminución de complicaciones por infecciones. Materiales y Métodos: La revisión sistemática consta de 10 artículos científicos. Según tipo de diseño de estudio el 50 % (n=5/10) es revisión sistemática, el 30% (n=3/10) estudio experimental, el 10% (n=1/10) estudio de cohorte y el 10% (n=1/10) estudio descriptivo, que concuerda con el resultado esperado en el presente estudio. De acuerdo a la calidad de evidencia se halló alta en un 80%, moderada en un 10% y baja en otro 10%, según el país en donde se llevaron a cabo las investigaciones fueron el 30% en Brasil, 30% Estados Unidos, el 30 % La India y el 10 % Turquía. Para hallar dichos estudios se utilizaron los siguientes buscadores de investigaciones científicas: Epistemonikos, Researchgate, Pubmed y Google académico. Resultados: De las 10 investigaciones analizadas, se evidencia que el 70% (7/10) demuestran la Efectividad de la limpieza y desinfección del laringoscopio en Centro Quirúrgico para la disminución de complicaciones por infecciones. Conclusiones: Según las investigaciones analizadas, se obtuvo que el 70% (n = 7/10) de los 10 artículos demuestran que existe Efectividad de la limpieza y desinfección del laringoscopio en Centro Quirúrgico para la disminución de complicaciones por infecciones y el 30% (n=3/10) evidencian a la limpieza y desinfección del laringoscopio en Centro Quirúrgico como ineficaces para la disminuición de complicaciones por infecciones, por ello, se aconseja hacer uso de hojas de laringoscopio desechables, para ayudar a disminuir la propagación de infecciones Nosocomiales evitando así complicaciones.
