Knowledge and acceptance of the human papillomavirus vaccine in parents of a private educational institution, Miraflores, 2022

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between knowledge and acceptance of the HPV vaccine in parents. Materials and methods: This research has a quantitative approach, in terms of the methodological design it is descriptive and cross-sectional. The research was carried out in a private educational institution in the Miraflores district. The data collection technique was the survey and two instruments were used to evaluate knowledge and acceptance of the vaccine. Results: 92% of parents have high knowledge of the HPV vaccine, of parents with high knowledge, 82.8% accept the vaccine. In the “basic knowledge” dimension, of parents with high knowledge, 89.6% accept the vaccine Conclusions: the level of knowledge that parents have about the HPV vaccine is related to accepting that their daughters be vaccinated.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y la aceptación de la vacuna del VPH en padres de familia. Materiales y métodos: La presente investigación es de enfoque cuantitativo, en cuanto al diseño metodológico es descriptivo y de corte transversal. La investigación se realizó en una institución educativa privada del distrito de Miraflores. La técnica de recolección de datos fue la encuesta y se utilizó dos instrumentos para evaluar conocimientos y aceptación de la vacuna. Resultados: el 92% de los padres tiene conocimiento alto de la vacuna del VPH, de los padres con conocimiento alto, el 82.8% acepta la vacuna. En la dimensión “conocimientos básicos”, de los padres con alto conocimiento, el 89.6% acepta la vacuna Conclusiones: el nivel de conocimiento que tengan los padres sobre la vacuna contra el VPH está relacionado al aceptar que vacunen a sus hijas.
