Introduction: Ventilator associated pneumonia is one of the infections associated with health care in the neonatal intensive care unit, which shows higher rates in developing countries; the application of evidence-based prevention packages in caertain countries has shown a reduction in cases. Objective: Establish the relationship between the nurse's knowledge about pneumonia and the practice of preventing pneumonia by mechanical ventilation in neonates. Method: it is applied, quantitative, cross sectional correlational, made up of 78 urses who work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit service of the Hermilio Valdizán Hospital. Huanuco and EsSalud II of Huánuco. The survey Will be used to measure the Konowledge of pneumonia that the nurse has, and obsevation to measure, the practices applied for the prevention of pneumonia due to mechanical ventilation, are validated and are reliable to measure the variable in question. The data obtained Will be emptied intro an Excel database and entered into four matrices designed by the SPSS versión statistial software. A correlation análisis Will be carried out between the nurse's Knowledge of pneumonia and the practice of pneumonia prevention and the test statistic to be used Will be R Spearmen since these are nominal and ordinal variables.
Resumen
Proyecto de investigación que se llevó a cabo con el objetivo de “Establecer la relación entre el conocimiento sobre la neumonía que tiene la enfermera y la práctica de la prevención de neumonía por ventilación mecánica en neonatos". Método: tipo aplicado, cuantitativo, correlacional transversal, conformada por 78 enfermeras que laboran en el servicio de UCIN del Hospital Hermilio Valdizán. Huánuco y EsSalud II de Huánuco. Se usará la encuesta para medir el Conocimiento de la neumonía que tiene la enfermera, y la observación para medir, las prácticas que aplica para la prevención de la neumonía por ventilación mecánica, están validados y son confiables para medir las variables en cuestión. Los datos obtenidos se vaciarán en base datos Excel, se digitarán en unas cuarto matrices diseñadas `por el software estadística versión SPSS. Se realizará un análisis de correlación entre Conocimiento de la neumonía que tiene la enfermera y la práctica de la prevención de la neumonía y el estadístico de prueba a utilizar será R Spearmen por tratarse de variables nominales y ordinales.
