Complementary feeding practices and their relationship with the prevalence of anemia in children from 06 to 36 months in the Health Center of the district of Lucanas - Ayacucho 2022.

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between complementary feeding practices and the prevalence of anemia in children aged 06 to 36 months at the health center in the district of Lucanas - Ayacucho, 2022. Materials and methods: The research had a quantitative focus, applied type, hypothetical-deductive method, non-experimental design, with a correlational level and cross-sectional cut. The sample consisted of 80 mothers with children aged 06 to 36 months who were users of the health center. The technique used for data collection was the survey, and to measure complementary feeding practices, a standardized instrument was used, while for the variable prevalence of anemia, documented information from clinical records was used. Results: 32.5% of the surveyed mothers presented poor complementary feeding practices, and 67.5% had good complementary feeding practices. Additionally, 51.25% of the children did not have anemia, 27.5% had mild anemia, 15% had moderate anemia, and 6.25% had severe anemia. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between complementary feeding practices and the prevalence of anemia in children aged 06 to 36 months at the health center in the district of Lucanas - Ayacucho, 2022.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación de la práctica alimenticia complementaria con la prevalencia de anemia en niños de 06 a 36 meses en el centro de salud del distrito Lucanas – Ayacucho, 2022. Material y métodos: La investigación tuvo enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, método hipotético–deductivo, diseño no experimental, con nivel correlacional y corte transversal. La muestra la constituyeron 80 madres con hijos entre 06 y 36 meses de edad usuarias del centro de salud. La técnica utilizada en la recolección de información fue la encuesta, y para medir la práctica de alimentación complementaria se utilizó un instrumento estandarizado, mientras que para la variable prevalencia de anemia se utilizó la información documentada en base a sus historias clínicas. Resultados: El 32,5% de madres encuestadas presentaron mala práctica de alimentación complementaria y el 67,5% tiene buena práctica de alimentación complementaria. Además, el 51,25% de los niños no tienen anemia, el 27,5% tienen anemia leve, el 15% tienen anemia moderada y 6,25% tienen anemia severa. Conclusión: existe relación significativa de la práctica de alimentación complementaria con la prevalencia de anemia en niños de 06 a 36 meses en el centro de salud del distrito de Lucanas - Ayacucho, 2022.
