Level of knowledge and its relationship with breastfeeding practices in mothers in a health center in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Objective: Analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and breastfeeding practices in mothers from an establishment in Lima, 2023. Methodology: A quantitative, applied approach, observational design, correlational scope, and transactional section was implemented. The research focused on a group of 80 mothers. Two instruments were used: a questionnaire to evaluate knowledge of breastfeeding and an observation guide to record practices related to breastfeeding. Results: Medium knowledge with adequate breastfeeding practice in mothers was found in 83.8%. Regarding the dimensions of the first variable, in the concept dimension the high level with adequate practice predominated in 58.8%, in the breast care and breastfeeding techniques dimension the high level prevailed with adequate practice in 72.5%. and in the milk extraction and storage dimension the level was high with 60% of adequate practice. And finally, a correlation was found between level of knowledge and breastfeeding practices, and a significant relationship was also found between the dimensions of the level of knowledge with breastfeeding practices

Objetivo:. Analizar la relación del nivel de conocimiento con las prácticas de lactancia materna en madres del Centro de Salud Lima, 2023. Material y métodos: El enfoque metodológico utilizado fue cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal y descriptivo. La muestra fueron 80 madres de niños (a) de 0 a 6 meses de edad siendo seleccionadas por criterios de inclusión y exclusión , la tecnica para recolectar los datos fue una encuesta y una quia de observacion se obtuvo que entre el nivel de conocimiento y su relacion con la practicas de lactancia materna en madres de un centro de salud de lima es de conocimiento bajo en un (7.5%) ,conocimiento medio en un (83.8%) y conocimiento alto en un (7.5%), su prueba de Hipotesis demostro que tiene una relacion significativa siendo alfa 0.013 menor que 0,05.aceptando la hipótesis
