Compliance with biosafety rules: hand washing by nurses at the Chancay hospital, September to December 2020

Abstract

Introduction: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it states that Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) are transmitted within the hospital environment between patients and healthcare personnel, which is why it is considered a performance indicator in hospital management. with the purpose of strengthening the resolution capacity in infection prevention and control processes; Thus, handwashing is everyone's responsibility. Objective: Determine compliance with biosafety rules: hand washing in nurses at the Chancay hospital, September - December, 2020. Methodology: A descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional study will be carried out. The study population will be made up of the total number of nurses at the Chancay Hospital, from which a sample of 81 nurses who work in the healthcare area will be obtained, to whom the checklist on compliance with the requirements will be applied as an instrument. biosafety rules: hand washing. The data obtained will be tabulated and statistically processed, applying the statistical package SPSS Vs. 26.0, and Excel 2016.

Introducción: Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) declara que las Infecciones Asociadas a la Atención de Salud (IAAS) se transmiten dentro del ambiente hospitalario entre pacientes y personal asistencial, por lo que es considerado un indicador de desempeño en la gestión hospitalaria con la finalidad de fortalecer la capacidad resolutiva en los procesos de prevención y control de infecciones; siendo así el lavado de manos una responsabilidad de todos. Objetivo: Determinar cumplimiento de las reglas de bioseguridad: lavado de manos en las enfermeras del hospital de Chancay, setiembre - diciembre, 2020. Metodología: Se realizará un estudio de tipo descriptivo, no experimental, transversal. La población del estudio estará conformada por el total de enfermeras del Hospital de Chancay, de las cuales se obtendrá una muestra de 81 enfermeras que trabajan en el área asistencial, a las que se le aplicará como instrumento la lista de cotejo sobre el cumplimiento de las reglas de bioseguridad: lavado de manos. Los datos obtenidos serán tabulados y procesados estadísticamente, aplicando el paquete estadístico SPSS Vs. 26.0, y Excel 2016.
