Level of knowledge and attitude about the prevention of pressure injuries in nurses of the surgery service of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital

Abstract

Introduction: Studies on nurses' knowledge of LPP prevention have found mixed results. Some studies have found that nurses have adequate knowledge about risk factors, clinical manifestations, and prevention interventions, while other studies have found knowledge to be deficient. Objective: "To determine how the level of knowledge is related to the attitude about the prevention of pressure injuries in nurses of the surgical service of the Rebagliati hospital, Lima - 2023". Methodology: Hypothetico-deductive method, nonexperimental design, quantitative, descriptive method, applied correlation method, crosssectional method; for the development of the present research there will be a population or census sample of 120 nurses from the surgery service of the Rebagliati Hospital and the tool to be used for the research work will be the "CPLPP-31 questionnaire" to measure the level of knowledge and the "APuP questionnaire" to measure the attitudes on the prevention of LPP. Both instruments are universal and enjoy validity and good reliability. Data collection takes about 30 minutes for the participants. Spearman's correlation analysis will be used to test the hypothesis.

EL Presente estudio investiga el conocimiento de las enfermeras sobre la prevención de LPP donde se han encontrado en investigaciones resultados mixtos. Algunos estudios han encontrado que las enfermeras tienen un conocimiento adecuado sobre los factores de riesgo, las manifestaciones clínicas y las intervenciones de prevención, mientras otros estudios han encontrado que el conocimiento es deficiente. Metodología hipotético-deductivo, diseño no experimental, método cuantitativo, descriptivo, método de correlación aplicada, método transversal, para el desarrollo de la presente investigación se contara con una población o muestra censal de 120 enfermeras del servicio de cirugía del hospital Rebagliati y la herramienta a utilizar para el trabajo de investigación será el cuestionario para medir el nivel de conocimiento y las actitudes sobre la prevención de LPP. Los instrumentos son universales y gozan de validez y de buena confiabilidad. La recolección de datos toma alrededor de 30 minutos para los participantes. Así mismo para la conformación de la hipótesis se empleara el análisis de correlación de Spearman.
