Effectiveness of ibuprofen in achieving successful pharmacological closure of the patent ductus arteriosus in premature newborns

Abstract

The total number of articles analyzed affirms the effectiveness of ibuprofen in achieving closure of patent ductus arteriosus in premature newborns. Which concludes that 90% of the studies show that Ibuprofen was effective in achieving successful pharmacological closure of the patent ductus arteriosus in premature newborns, presenting fewer side effects, and 10% show that Ibuprofen is not effective in achieving successful pharmacological closure of patent ductus arteriosus in premature newborns treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

El total de artículos analizados afirma la eficacia del ibuprofeno para lograr el cierre del conducto arterioso persistente en el recién nacidos prematuros. La cual concluye que el 90 % de los estudios evidencian, que el Ibuprofeno fue eficaz para lograr el cierre farmacológico exitoso del conducto arterioso persistente en los recién nacidos prematuros presentando menos efectos secundarios y el 10% evidencian que el Ibuprofeno, no es eficaz para lograr el cierre farmacológico exitoso del conducto arterioso persistente en recién nacidos prematuros tratados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales.
