Nurse workload and quality of care in children under 5 years of age of the articulated nutritional program in the growth and development service and immunizations in the Covid-19 pandemic, Microred de Trujillo, 2021

Abstract

Introduction: At the national level, the articulated nutritional program (PAN) which is based on growth and development care (CRED) and immunizations in infants under 5 years of age should be carried out by several nursing professionals. However, in the provinces, only one professional is responsible for this work. As a consequence of this, the workload has increased, both due to the care and administrative tasks they perform daily, which influences the provision of quality care. Objective: Determine the relationship between nurses' workload and quality of care for children under five years of age in the PAN in the CRED service and immunizations during the covid-19 pandemic, in a Micronetwork. Method: It will be applied, with a quantitative, observational, descriptive, non-experimental, transversal, correlational approach. The population is made up of 40 nurses and 200 caregivers of children under 5 years of age from the PAN. Technique and instrument: 2 questionnaires will be used, the workload and the quality of care, which will be administered with prior authorization; and, the data obtained will be coded and entered into Excel (database) before being tabulated and processed through the SPSS version 22 system as statistical software.

Introducción: A nivel nacional el programa articulado nutricional (PAN) el cual se basa en la atención de crecimiento y desarrollo (CRED) e inmunizaciones en los infantes menores de 5 años debería ser realizado por varios profesionales de enfermería. Sin embargo, en provincias, sólo un profesional es responsable de dicha labor. Como consecuencia de esto, se ha incrementado la carga laboral, ya sea por las labores asistenciales como administrativas que realizan a diario, lo que influyen al momento de brindar un cuidado de calidad. Objetivo: Determinar la relación existente entre carga laboral de las enfermeras y calidad de cuidado a los niños menores de cinco años del PAN en el servicio de CRED e inmunizaciones en periodo de pandemia covid-19, en una Microred. Método: Será aplicada, con enfoque cuantitativo, observacional, descriptivo, no experimental, transversal, correlacional. La población está constituida por 40 enfermeras y 200 cuidadores de niños menores de 5 años del PAN. Técnica e instrumento: Se emplearán 2 cuestionarios, el de carga de trabajo y el de calidad asistencial, que se administrarán con la autorización previa; y, los datos obtenidos se codificarán e introducirán en Excel (base de datos) antes de ser tabulados y procesados a través del sistema SPSS versión 22 como software estadístico.
