Family support and quality of life in chronic kidney patients with peritoneal dialysis at a national hospital in Callao, 2023

Abstract

The main objective of this study is "To determine how family support and quality of life are related in chronic renal patients receiving peritoneal dialysis in a National Hospital of Callao, 2023". Materials and Methods: Applied quantitative research with a cross-sectional, correlational and non-experimental design. The study population will be 100 patients suffering from chronic kidney disease with peritoneal dialysis. The sample consisted of 82 patients. Application of a survey and a questionnaire for each study variable respectively, both adapted and validated by the work done in Peru by Zevallos Morales JM. "Relation of family support and quality of life in hemodialysis patients of the Global Renal Clinic of Lima in 2022". The questionnaires of the two study variables were validated by three judgments of experts in the specialty and by the work of Zevallos (2022). For which they used the Binomial Test Concordance Table, obtaining a coefficient of (p=0.019) for instrument 1 and (p=0.023) for instrument 2; whose values support the validity of these instruments. With a reliability of Cronbach's Alpha test, in which it obtained an internal consistency score of 0.835 variable 1 and a Cronbach's Alpha score of 0.84 variable 2. A normality test will also be used to analyze the relationship between the two variables and an inferential test by means of Spearman's Rho statistic to obtain the correlation coefficient.

Objetivo “Determinar cómo se relacionan el apoyo familiar y la calidad de vida de los pacientes renales crónicos que reciben diálisis peritoneal en un Hospital Nacional del Callao, 2023”. Materiales y Métodos: Investigación cuantitativa, aplicada, diseño transversal, correlacional y no experimental. Población de estudio 100 pacientes que padecen enfermedad crónica renal con diálisis peritoneal. Siendo la muestra 82 pacientes. Aplicación encuesta y un cuestionario para cada variable, ambos adaptados y validados por el trabajo realizado por Zevallos Morales JM. “Relación del apoyo familiar y la calidad de vida en pacientes de hemodiálisis de la Clínica Renal Global de Lima en 2022”. Los cuestionarios de las dos variables validados por tres juicios de expertos de la especialidad y por el trabajo de Zevallos (2022). Validación obtuvo un coeficiente (p=0,019) instrumento 1 y (p=0,023) instrumento 2 utilizando Tabla de Concordancia de la Prueba Binomial, cuyos valores confirman la validez de estos instrumentos. Test de fiabilidad Alfa de Cronbach, puntuación de 0,84 variable 2 y una puntuación de consistencia interna de 0,835 variable 1. Se utilizará prueba de normalidad y prueba inferencial mediante el estadístico Rho de Spearman para evaluar la relación entre las dos variables y determinar el coeficiente de correlación
