Knowledge and practices about the administration of parenteral nutrition of the nursing professional in the neonatal intensive care service of a Hospital in Lima, 2022.

Abstract

In Latin America, 9 out of 100 births are premature and approximately 64% do not survive. Premature babies with very low birth weight require special nutrition due to insufficient nutrients and proteins that can affect development and growth. The study aims to "Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice regarding the administration of parenteral nutrition by nursing professionals in the neonatal intensive care service of a hospital in Lima, 2022." With a quantitative approach because the variables are represented through statistical tables. The design is transversal, non-experimental and correlational, 80 nurses will be part of the sample which will be census, likewise, two validated instruments will be used for the first variable, a questionnaire will be used and for the second variable an observation guide, the information will be collected with prior consent and later the results will be processed and analyzed through a statistical program Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 26. On the other hand, the non-parametric chi square test will be used for the hypothesis test that will verify if there is a relationship between the study variables; finally the findings will be represented in graphs and tables.

En América Latina 9 de cada 100 nacimientos son prematuros y aproximadamente el 64% no logra sobrevivir. Los bebes prematuros de muy bajo peso necesitan de una nutrición especial debido a la insuficiencia de nutrientes y proteínas que puede afectar el desarrollo y crecimiento. El estudio tiene como objetivo “Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica sobre la administración de nutrición parenteral del profesional enfermería en el servicio de cuidados intensivos neonatales de un hospital de Lima, 2022”. Con un enfoque cuantitativo porque las variables se representadas a través de tablas estadísticas. El diseño es trasversal, no experimental y correlacional, 80 enfermeras integraran la muestra el cual será censal, asimismo, se utilizará dos instrumentos validados para la primera variable se empleará un cuestionario y para la segunda variable una guía de observación, se recolectará la información previo consentimiento y posteriormente se procederá a procesar y analizar los resultados a través de un programa estadístico Microsoft Excel y al SPSS versión 26. Por otro lado, se utilizará la prueba no paramétrica chi cuadrado para la prueba de hipótesis que verificarara si hay relación entre las variables de estudio; finalmente los hallazgos serán representados en gráficos y tablas.
