Nursing educational intervention in the self-care of ostomy patients seen at the Anglo-American clinic 2021.

Abstract

This research will have a quantitative pre-experimental approach, as it intervenes in the study variable. Given the characteristics, the pre-experimental design at the applied level was chosen, as it is suitable for testing or measuring the effect of an intervention. A pre-experimental group will be implemented, consisting of ostomized patients hospitalized, where the nursing educational program designed by the Specialized Area of the Clinic will be applied. For this, two measures will be formalized to estimate the level of self-care through a survey with a pretest questionnaire before the intervention, and the same questionnaire tool will be applied as a post-test after the learning sessions, before discharge. The pre-experimental sample population will consist of a convenience sample of 80 patients with an ostomy from colostomy or ileostomy who are hospitalized and discharged from the Anglo-American Clinic - Surgery Service. The patients will be selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria outlined in the research.

La presente investigación será de enfoque cuantitativo pre experimental. Ya que se interviene en la variable de estudio. Dadas las características, se optó por trabajar con el diseño pre experimental de nivel aplicativo, ya que son convenientes para probar o medir el efecto de una intervención. Se implementará un grupo pre experimental constituido por los pacientes ostomizados hospitalizados en donde se aplicará el programa educativo de enfermería diseñado por el Área Especializada de la Clínica. Para lo cual, se formalizarán dos medidas para estimar el nivel de autocuidado mediante una encuesta con un cuestionario de pretest antes de la intervención y la misma herramienta cuestionario se aplicará como un post test, luego de la aplicación de las sesiones de aprendizaje antes del alta. La población muestral pre experimental estará conformada por una muestra por conveniencia de 80 pacientes con una ostomía de eliminación de una colostomía o ileostomía que están hospitalizados y que salen de alta del área de hospitalización de la Clínica Anglo - Americana - Servicio de Cirugía. Los pacientes serán seleccionados de acuerdo con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión planteados en la investigación.
