This research aims to determine the relationship between adherence to pharmacological therapy and associated factors in patients with tuberculosis from the TBC program at a health center in Metropolitan Lima in 2021. The research methodology is based on a quantitative approach, with a basic study type, a correlational level, and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population consists of 300 patients undergoing TBC treatment at Emergencia Grau Hospital from January to August 2021. The sample, obtained through a simple probabilistic sampling method, is 170 patients. Data will be collected using the survey technique. Accordingly, the research instruments consist of two questionnaires: the Therapeutic Adherence Scale (TAS) and the Questionnaire on Factors Associated with Therapeutic Adherence.

The purpose of this study was to assess the consumption of Bixa orellana and benign prostatic disease among clients served at Botica Palacios, located in Moyobamba, San Martín, in 2025. The study was conducted cross-sectionally and correlationally, with a basic, quantitative approach that did not include experimentation. The sample, composed of 179 randomly selected individuals from a total of 335 men with BPH and over 40 years of age, was the community under study. For the research, a structured survey was used, consisting of two sections: one focused on sociodemographic data and consumption of the plant. The effects demonstrated a positive and statistically significant correlation between general consumption of Bixa orellana and BPH (rho = 0.690; p < 0.001). In addition, weak connections were found with specific dimensions such as the area used, the method of preparation, the duration and frequency of consumption, as well as the duration and severity of symptoms. It is concluded that, although the plant is frequently used in traditional practice, its consumption does not guarantee clear clinical benefits against BPH, making it necessary to continue with longitudinal research and clinical trials that evaluate its possible therapeutic effects.

The overall objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the consumption of “Chenopodium ambrosioides” (paico) and intestinal parasitosis in residents who visited the San Carlos market in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, in 2025. The population consisted of 300 adult consumers of paico, from which a sample of 169 participants was obtained, calculated using the formula for finite populations. The method applied was hypothetical-deductive and quantitative, while the research was applied, with a non experimental, cross-sectional design and descriptive-correlational scope. The technique used was a survey, and the instrument was a structured questionnaire that collected sociodemographic information, as well as specific data on paico consumption, its forms of preparation, and the presence of intestinal parasitosis. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between paico consumption and intestinal parasitosis (Rho = –0.265; p = 0.001). Likewise, the consumption of leaves and stems and preparation as an infusion were associated with a lower prevalence of parasitosis, while the adverse events reported were mild and without significant association. In conclusion, paico was shown to be a traditional resource with therapeutic value against intestinal parasitic infections, constituting an accessible and culturally accepted alternative for the community studied.

The COVID-19 disease originated in China. The World Health Organization declared it a pandemic, leading to a public health crisis where the indiscriminate use of medications became a significant problem. The objective of this study was to determine how the COVID-19 pandemic relates to the indiscriminate consumption of medications among users of drugstores near the Ciudad de Dios market. Method: This was an inductive, quantitative, descriptive, non-participatory observational study. The sample consisted of 305 users. Results: 86.6% of respondents took medications without a prescription, and the most frequent signs and symptoms were headache and fever. The participants believed that the spread of the coronavirus disease was due to not wearing a mask, not washing hands, not social distancing, and not quarantining. They also believed that the lack of availability of care influenced their medication consumption. A high percentage self-medicated due to a lack of financial resources, for prevention, out of fear of contracting the disease, and due to the influence of the media. The most consumed medications were paracetamol and azithromycin. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic is related to the indiscriminate consumption of medications.

The objective of the research is to determine whether the hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves of Solanum aphyodendron S. Knapp (Olmish) has an antibacterial effect on strains of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Bacillus cereus ATTC 11778, in vitro study. Methodology is hypothetical deductive whose quantitative approach, type of applied research with experimental design, cross-sectional and level of scope is explanatory. The phytochemical analysis was by "Phytochemical screening" and to determine the antibacterial activity was the Kirby Bauer method, which were taken concentrations of 25, 50 and 90 % of the extract. In the results, phenolic compounds, saponins, alkaloids, lactones, tannins, anthocyanins and flavonoids were found. In the microbiological test it was shown that the Staphylococcus aureus strain showed sensitivity to the three concentrations with average inhibition halos of 8,38, 11,10 and 13,42 mm; while Bacillus cereus only showed sensitivity to the concentration of 50 and 90 % with average inhibition halos of 8,63 and 13,02 mm. In conclusion, it was determined that the olmish leaf extract has an antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus at the three concentrations and on Bacillus cereus only at 50 and 90 %, in an in vitro study.

In this study, the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of the hydroalcoholic extract from the leaves of Rumex cuneifolius Campd., known as "Romaza," were evaluated using the subplantar edema and abdominal writhing methods in albino mice (Mus musculus). Materials and Methods: A hydroalcoholic extract was obtained by maceration with 70% ethanol. The anti-inflammatory effect was assessed using the 1% albumin-induced subplantar edema method. The mice were divided into a Control Group, a diclofenac group (50 mg/kg), a dexamethasone group (4 mg/kg), and a hydroalcoholic extract group at doses of 50, 100, and 150 mg/kg. The analgesic effect was evaluated using the 0.8% glacial acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing model. The mice were divided into a Control Group, a paracetamol group (300 mg/kg), a tramadol group (40 mg/kg), and a hydroalcoholic extract group at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg. Results and Conclusion: The extract showed solubility in both ethanol and methanol. The qualitative phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of primary metabolites (carbohydrates and amino acids) and secondary metabolites (phenolic compounds, flavonoids, steroids and/or triterpenes, sesquiterpene lactones, quinones, and alkaloids). The study determined that the ideal dose for the anti-inflammatory effect was 100 mg/kg, with an effectiveness of 94%. The analgesic effect was confirmed at a dose of 100 mg/kg, showing a 75% effectiveness. In conclusion, the hydroalcoholic extract from the leaves of Rumex cuneifolius Campd. "Romaza" demonstrates both anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
