    Adherence to pharmacological treatment and health-related quality of life in individuals with hypertension attending the outpatient cardiology clinic at the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital, Lima – 2018

    Objective: Determine the relationship between adherence to pharmacological treatment and health-related quality of life in people with high blood pressure, treated in the outpatient cardiology clinic of the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital, Lima - 2018. Methodology: Quantitative, correlational, non-experimental study and cross section. The population was made up of 210 patients who attended the clinic in the month of May, in which instruments that included demographic variables were used: the Morisky–Green test (adherence) and the MINICHAL (quality of life). Results: Of a total of 210 patients, 20.5% were adherent, 51.4% evidenced health-related quality of life in a high range. Between the variable Adherence to pharmacological treatment and Health-related quality of life, the test obtained a significance value of 0.008 (p < 0.05), which indicates that there is a relationship. Conclusions: The greater the adherence to treatment, the better the quality of life; and as non-adherent people increase, health-related quality of life decreases.

    EFECTIVIDAD DE LA SUPLEMENTACIÓN DEL ZINC PARA LA PREVENCIÓN DE DIARREA EN NIÑOS MENORES DE 5 AÑOS

    Objetivo: Analizar y sistematizar la efectividad de la suplementación del zinc para la prevención de diarrea en niños menores de 5 años. Material y Métodos: Revisión sistemática, sometidos a selección critica, utilizando el sistema de evaluación Grade para la identificación del grado de evidencia, hallados en las siguientes bases de datos: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier, Epistemonikos. De los 10 artículos revisados sistemáticamente el 70% (n= 7/10) son revisiones sistemáticas, el 20% (n= 2/10) son metanalisis y el 10 % (n= 1/10) son estudios primarios. Según los resultados obtenidos de la revisión sistemática realizada en el presente estudio, proceden de los países de EEUU (30%), seguida de Italia (10%), Polonia (10%), Brazil (10%), Perú (10%). Resultados: Las evidencias encontradas, señalan que el 100% (n=10/10) de los artículos revisados refieren la efectividad de la suplementación del zinc para la prevención de diarrea en niños menores de 5 años; los que confirman que estos suplementos pueden ser útiles para tratar la gastroenteritis aguda; asimismo se recomienda que la administración de este producto debe ser independientemente del suero de rehidratación oral y no mezclada. Conclusión: La suplementación de zinc es más efectiva en la prevención de la diarrea en niños menores de 5 años ya que este reducirá la morbilidad y mortalidad.

    Effect of the overload of the nursing professional in the occurrence of adverse events in patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit

    Objective: To examine the evidence about the effect of nursing professional workload on the occurrence of adverse events in patients hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit. Materials and methods: A quantitative retrospective observational systematic review, subjected to critical evaluation and identification of its certainty, was found in the different data sources: Pubmed, Epistemonikos, Sciencedirect, Cochrane, Scielo. Of the 10 articles methodically evaluated, 20% (n= 2/10) are systematic reviews, 40% (n= 4/10) are cohort studies, 30% (n= 3/10) are descriptive/cross-sectional and 10% (n= 1/10) are macro data analysis. They are derived from the countries of Spain (30%), followed by Brazil (30%), Belgium (10%), Taiwan (10%), Turkey (10%) and Colombia (10%). Results: According to the evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) indicated that the work overload of the nursing professional has a direct impact on care, causing adverse events such as: pressure ulcers, medication errors, hospital infections; affecting the quality of patient care. Conclusion: The work overload of the nursing professional in intensive care units influences the occurrence of adverse events; thus impacting the quality of patient care.

    Effectiveness of a healthy eating program to reduce calorie, total fat, and carbohydrate intake in children under 15 years old

    Objective: The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of a healthy eating program to reduce the consumption of kilocalories, total fats and carbohydrates in girls and boys under 15 years of age. Materials and Methods: The design used was a systematic review. They represent a fundamental contribution to evidence-based nursing, allowing answers to questions that arise in daily practice, which is why articles with high quality of evidence are selected. Results: The results obtained from the systematic review in this research, finding 80% favorable and significant results, evidenced by the decrease in anthropometric measurements, increase in fruit consumption and improvement in eating habits. 20% of the studies reviewed did not find a significant impact on the prevention of overweight and obesity. Conclusions: 8 out of 10 evidence indicates that a healthy eating program reduces carbohydrate consumption, fat kilocalories, decreases anthropometric measurements, increases fruit consumption and improves eating habits. On the other hand, 2 out of 10 evidence did not find a significant impact on the prevention of overweight and obesity.

    Effectiveness of a physical activity intervention to reduce sarcopenia in elderly adults

    Objective: Systematize the evidence of the effectiveness of a physical activity intervention to reduce sarcopenia in the elderly Materials and Methods: Searches for Systematic Reviews were carried out in EBSCOhost, Scielo, PubMed, Science Direct, Lilacs and Epistemonikos, These documents were then subjected to a critical reading to subsequently analyze the quality of the methodology according to the CASPE scale. After analyzing the 10 scientific articles, it is evident that 10% (n=1/10) are systematic reviews and meta-analysis, 70% (n=7/10) are systematic reviews, 10% (n=1/10) are meta-analysis and 10% (n=1/10) is a randomized clinical trial. These studies come from the countries of Spain (40%), Costa Rica (10%), United States (10%), France (10%), Australia (10%), China (10%), Japan (10%) . Result: Of the selected articles, 100% (10/10) indicate that physical activity is beneficial in reducing the effects of sarcopenia in the elderly. We also have that these scientific articles mention that more studies are necessary They can propose an anti-sarcopenia strategy, determining a group of exercises that can reduce adverse events related to this disease. There is an article that tells us that physical activity in combination with nutritional interventions could improve results. Conclusions: In 10/10 documents it is evident that physical activity in older adults reduces sarcopenia and other related events, which will increase their physical capabilities and improve quality of life.

    Effectiveness of a triage system to reduce patient saturation in the hospital emergency department

    Objective: Systematize the effectiveness of triage performed by nurses to reduce patient saturation in the emergency service Hospitable. Material and Methods: Observational systemic review and retrospective analyzing the results of multiple clinical trials controlled studies that are the original primary studies. They are part foundation of evidence-based nursing for its comprehensive methodology identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice, the search for Evidence is developed systemically with selection criteria, full-text articles have been restricted and selected articles have been subjected to critical reading. Results: When defining the final selection, ten articles were chosen, it is observed that the origin of the evidence found must indicate that; 30% (3/10) corresponds to Spain, 20% (2/10) corresponds to Costa Rica, 20% (2/10) corresponds to Brazil, 20% (2/10) corresponds to the United States of America, 10 % (1/10) corresponds to China. Conclusion: According to the results obtained, it can be seen that of the total of 10 articles reviewed demonstrate that 60% show the effectiveness of triage performed by nurses to reduce patient saturation in the hospital emergency service. While 40% of the evidence indicates that interventions need to carry out complementary studies to achieve effectiveness in their application.

    Effectiveness of activated charcoal as a treatment for acute gastric poisoning

    Objective: To analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of activated charcoal as a treatment for acute gastric poisoning. Methodology: This is an experimental, descriptive, observational, and retrospective systematic review. The search was restricted to full-text articles, and the selected articles underwent critical reading to evaluate their evidence grade using the GRADE method to assess the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations. Twelve articles were selected, with 66% from Spain (8), 16% from Denmark (2), the Dominican Republic (1), and Finland (1), respectively. Results: Of the 12 articles reviewed, 10/12 articles show that activated charcoal administered within the first hour after ingesting the drug reduced the effect on the drug by 48.5%, which was statistically significant. Conclusions: Activated charcoal is effective for managing gastric poisoning in adults when applied within the first hour.

    Effectiveness of adrenaline in the management of cardiac arrest.

    Objective: To analyze the available evidence from studies on the effectiveness of adrenaline in the management of cardiac arrest. Methodology: This is a systematic review of 10 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of adrenaline in cardiac arrest management, retrieved from the following databases: Scielo, Medline, Pubmed, and subjected to critical selection using the Grade evaluation system to identify the level of evidence. The search was restricted to full-text articles. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed systematically, 90% (9/10) demonstrate the effectiveness of adrenaline in cardiac arrest, while 10% (1/10) report insufficient data to determine the effectiveness of adrenaline in cardiac arrest management. Therefore, further studies are needed to determine the effectiveness of adrenaline in managing cardiac arrest. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 9 demonstrate the effectiveness of adrenaline in cardiac arrest. It was also found that adrenaline administration was beneficial, as it aids in the return of spontaneous circulation during resuscitation efforts and is part of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation protocol.

    Effectiveness of alternative disinfectants: peracetic acid and ortho-phthalaldehyde compared to glutaraldehyde for achieving optimal and damage-free disinfection in flexible endoscopes

    Objective: To systematically analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of alternative disinfectants: peracetic acid and ortho-phthalaldehyde compared to glutaraldehyde for achieving optimal and damage-free disinfection of flexible endoscopes. Materials and Methods: Systematic review of 06 articles from international studies and research, including the most relevant ones according to the level of evidence, restricted to full-text articles. Of the 06 articles reviewed systematically, 50% are systematic reviews, 33% are controlled clinical trials, and 16% are experimental studies. The articles underwent critical reading using the GRADE scale. Results: Of the 60% of reviewed articles, 20% demonstrate that the disinfectants studied are effective in inactivating vegetative microorganisms under the established conditions of use, 20% of the articles demonstrate that preconditions are important for ensuring proper disinfection, and 30% of articles indicate that the use of ortho-phthalaldehyde, like glutaraldehyde and peracetic acid, has been cited in relation to its toxicity, making it unsafe as an alternative. No studies were found reporting damage to endoscopes caused by the disinfectants. Conclusions: Of the 06 articles reviewed, it is evident that the disinfectants peracetic acid and ortho-phthalaldehyde are effective in inactivating microorganisms. Preconditions must exist to ensure proper disinfection. The disinfectants have been cited for their toxicity, and no studies report damage to endoscopes.

    Effectiveness of antiseptic and natural care in the process of umbilical cord mummification in newborns attended at a maternity hospital

    Objective: To systematically analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of antiseptic and natural care in the process of mummification of the umbilical cord of newborns treated in a maternity hospital. Material and Methods: The systematic observational and retrospective review of scientific articles found on antiseptic care and natural in the process of falling off the umbilical cord. These databases were cited: Pubmed, Chronane, Scielo, Dialnet; of 10 articles found and evaluated according to the Grade scale to establish their strength and quality as evidence. It is analyzed that 50% (n= 5/10) are clinical trials, 10% (n= 1/10) are meta-analyses, 30% (n= 3/10) are descriptive and 10% (n=1/10) are descriptive. 10) It is quasi-experimental, 60% (n=1/11) are a systematic review, 20% (n= 4/11) are a randomized clinical trial. (RCT) 3 prospective. Results: Of the 10 articles found, 80% point out that antiseptics, especially chlorhexidine, are effective in healing, but they have the effect of lengthening the period of cord detachment, being counterproductive to the healing process. Likewise, 70% of the articles point out other care alternatives such as natural ones, although they do not optimally interfere with disinfection, they also help shorten the lifespan of the umbilical cord without complications. Conclusion: 7 of 10 articles found point out the effectiveness of using natural care to reduce the lifespan of the umbilical cord, also showing that it does not produce a risk of the appearance of infections.

    Effectiveness of brief interventions to decrease the consumption of alcohol in patients who enter the emergency service.

    Objective: To determine the prevention of adverse events by nursing professionals in the Emergency Department. Methodology: A quantitative study with a descriptive, cross-sectional design. Population: The population consists of 25 nursing professionals from the Emergency Department of a hospital in Huacho, who will be selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample size was not calculated. Data Collection Techniques and Instruments: The technique will be a survey, and the instrument will be a questionnaire titled "Prevention of Adverse Events by Nursing Professionals." Procedures: Data collection will take place at the Essalud Huacho hospital, focusing on nursing professionals in the emergency department, and will be conducted in August 2021. Validation: The instrument was subjected to an expert judgment test with an ordinal scale, and is therefore considered applicable to the study. Reliability: To determine the reliability of the instrument, the Kuder-Richardson (KR 20) coefficient was used, with a result of 0.86, indicating that the reliability of the instrument is acceptable.

    Effectiveness of chlorhexidine in protecting the oral cavity to prevent pneumonia in patients on mechanical ventilation

    A study was conducted on the effectiveness of chlorhexidine in protecting the oral cavity to prevent pneumonia in ventilated patients. The type of study is quantitative, the study design is a systematic review, the population was 19 articles and the sample was 10 scientific articles, published and indexed in scientific databases, the instrument was the search in the database from: PubMed, Scielo, Cochrane and Elsevier. For the evaluation of the articles, the GRADE method was used, which evaluated the quality of the evidence and the recommendation, the 10 articles selected 100%, under the systematic analysis come from different countries, such as: United States 30%, Japan 10%, United Kingdom 10%, Spain 20%, Belgium 10%, Turkey 10% and China 10%. In relation to the designs and types of studies, 60% (n=6/10) are a meta-analysis, 20% (n=2/10) are randomized controlled clinical trials, 10% (n=1/10) are a retrospective descriptive design and 10% (n=1/10) is a quasi-experimental design.

    Objective: To systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of continuous infusion versus bolus administration of furosemide in the management of acute decompensated heart failure. Materials and Methods: This is a systematic, observational, and retrospective review of quantitative studies, critically selected, using the Grade evaluation system to determine the level of evidence. The articles were found in the following databases: PubMed, Open Access, Wiley Online Library, Science Direct, BioMed Central, and BMJ. Ten articles were systematically reviewed, of which 30% (n=3/10) were meta-analyses, and 70% (n=7/10) were randomized clinical trials. These studies were from the United States (40%), China (10%), Malaysia (10%), Italy (10%), Spain (10%), India (10%), and Portugal (10%).     Effectiveness of CPR video recording in learning feedback of health personnel

    Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of CPR video recording in learning feedback from health personnel Material and methods: A systematic review of international research is carried out, obtained through databases: Epistemonikos, NCBI, PubMed, Elsevier, Google Scholar and Scielo, which have been analyzed using the grade system to locate the degree of evidence. The search has been carried out using the DECS and MESH descriptors for the search in Spanish and English respectively. 40% (4/10) of the reviewed articles correspond to the USA, 20% (2/10) correspond to Australia and 40% (4/10) correspond to Belgium, Italy, China and Malaysia respectively. Results: 100% (10/10) of the evidence indicates that video-recorded CPR is effective in learning feedback from health personnel. Conclusions: 10 out of 10 evidence demonstrates CPR video recording is effective in learning feedback from health personnel.

    Effectiveness of delayed clamping versus umbilical cord milking in preventing neonatal anemia in the first level of care

    Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of delayed clamping compared to umbilical cord milking in the prevention of newborn anemia at the first level of care. Material and methods: a systematic review was carried out. The population was made up of 28 articles, to which selection criteria were applied. The sample was made up of 10 articles. Results: 40% come from the United States, 20% come from India, 10% come from Japan, 10% Sri Lanka, 10% Korea, 10% Iran. Depending on the type of design, 60% were randomized clinical trials, 30% used a cohort design, and 10% were a systematic review plus meta-analysis. Regarding the evidence, 60% found no significant differences between late clamping compared to milking the umbilical cord for the prevention of anemia in newborns. 20% found evidence of the effectiveness of cord milking compared to delayed clamping. 10% found evidence of effectiveness of delayed clamping compared to milking. 10% found evidence of the effectiveness of using the two procedures simultaneously for the prevention of anemia. Conclusions: there are no significant differences in the effectiveness of late clamping and milking of the umbilical cord for the prevention of anemia in newborns at the first level of care.

    Effectiveness of dialectic behavior therapy to decrease suicide and autolesive ideas in patients with personality limit disorder

    Objective: To analyze the evidence of the efficacy of dialectical behavioral therapy in reducing suicidal and self-harming thoughts in patients with borderline personality disorder. Material and Methods: A quantitative retrospective observational systematic review was carried out, subject to critical selection, using the Grade evaluation system to establish the degree of evidence, located in the following databases: Scielo, Researchgate, Sciencedirect, Epistemonikos, PubMed. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 10% (n= 1/10) are meta-analyses, 10% (n= 1/10) are systematic reviews, and 80% (n= 8/10) are randomized controlled trials. According to the results obtained from the systematic review carried out in the present study, the authors analyzed the data from the countries of the United States (30%), the Netherlands (20%), Canada (20%), Norway (10%), Spain (10%) and Australia (10%). Results: Of the evidence found, 90% (n=9/10) indicate that dialectical behavioral therapy is effective in reducing suicidal and self-harm thoughts in patients with borderline personality disorder. 10% (n=1/10) indicate that dialectical behavioral therapy is not effective in reducing suicidal and self-harm thoughts in patients with borderline personality disorder. Conclusion: Dialectical behavioral therapy is effective in reducing suicidal and self-harm thoughts in patients with borderline personality disorder.

    Effectiveness of digital thermometers versus infrared thermometers in pediatric patients

    Objective: Analyze the evidence about the effectiveness of the use of the digital thermometer versus the infrared thermometer in pediatric patients. Material and Methods: Systematic analysis of 10 scientific articles about the effectiveness of the use of the digital thermometer versus the infrared thermometer in pediatric patients, classified according to criteria, evaluating the quality of the evidence through the Grade system, located in the databases. following data: PubMed, Medline, Elsiber, Bvs, Scielo, Cochrane Plus Results: 30% (n= 3/10) are systematic reviews, 10% (n=1/10) are randomized clinical trials, 20% (n=2/10) are randomized controlled clinical trials, 30% (n=3/10) are cohort studies, and 10% (n=1/10) are randomized clinical trials. It is an analytical cross-sectional study. Of the 10 articles systematically examined, 70% (n=7/10) determined the effectiveness of the use of digital thermometers in terms of its use being more effective, precise and sensitive, even at higher temperatures and 30% (n=3 /10) agree that measuring infrared temperature is faster, as it does not contact the skin, is easier for the pediatric patient and there is not much relevance with the digital thermometer. Conclusions: Of the articles examined, 7 of the 10 articles demonstrate that the digital thermometer is considered more effective due to its precision, sensitivity, and 3 of the 10 articles report that the infrared thermometer is considered more effective due to its speed, and less contact with the patient.
