Publicación Acceso abierto Estilos de vida y su relación con la hipertensión arterial en adultos jóvenes atendidos en un hospital de Lima-Perú 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-10-17) Saboya Mas, Danter; Yacarini Martínez, Antero EnriqueObjective: “To determine the relationship between lifestyles and arterial hypertension in young adults”. Materials and methods: quantitative, correlational cross-sectional study, a modified Likert-type questionnaire was used with two variables: lifestyles related to arterial hypertension; it was applied to a sample of 118 young adult patients after evaluation. Results: In a study carried out in a hospital in Lima, it was observed that 47% of the users with arterial hypertension surveyed were aged between 40 and 45 years. In addition, 55% were identified as men and 45% were women. Regarding marital status, 38% are cohabiting and 29% are separated. Of the total respondents, 54% are professionals, while 38% have completed secondary education. Regarding lifestyle, the results indicate that 91% of respondents have an unhealthy lifestyle, 8% unhealthy and 1% healthy. Regarding arterial hypertension, 45% of patients have grade 1 hypertension, 25% grade 2, 25% grade 3, and 5% have high blood pressure. It is important to highlight that, of the total number of hypertensive patients, 8% showed an unhealthy lifestyle, 91% unhealthy and 1% healthy. Conclusion: There is evidence of a statistically significant relationship between lifestyles and hypertension in young adult patients, the final value being p=0.001.Publicación Acceso abierto Relación de la salud bucal con el bienestar y calidad de vida en jóvenes en el distrito de Andahuaylas - 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-10-15) Alegría Córdova, Sandra Evelin; Jaimes Velásquez, Carlos AlbertoObjective: Determine the relationship between oral health and well-being and quality of life in young people in the district of Andahuaylas in the year 2024. Materials and Methods: The study had a quantitative approach, descriptive design and cross section, the sample of 255 young people from the Villa Salinas residential population center in the district of Andahuaylas, applying the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-16) questionnaire which measures well-being and quality of life with 16 items, and the Health Index. Simplified oral hygiene IHO-S. Sperman's Rho test was used for statistical analysis. Results: According to the response alternative “always”, which gives greater value, since the discomfort reported by the study participants remains constant, young people have problems with food stuck between their teeth (38.43%), problems when eating things hard (12.94%), they feel ashamed of their teeth (7.84%), their teeth are a reason to avoid laughing (3.53%), they indicate a negative trend in well-being and quality of life. The results of the correlations of: well-being and quality of life, oral symptoms, functional limitation, emotional well-being and social well-being, showed a p value of 0.000, with values of r = 0.672, r = 0.662, r = 0.818, r = 0.754 and r = 0.802, respectively, indicating that the relationship between the variables is direct and significant. Conclusion: It is evident that oral health difficulties negatively affect the lives of students, with oral symptoms being more prevalent.
