This led to the investigation of the following question: What is the level of adherence to the institutional handwashing protocol among healthcare personnel in the Operating Room of a private clinic in Breña (Lima-Peru)? The study was quantitative, descriptive-explanatory, and prospective. The study population consisted of 100 healthcare professionals (Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Nurses, and Nursing Technicians). The data collection technique used was Participant Observation, with three observations made for each sample element. The instrument used was a Checklist validated by Expert Judges, and reliability was assessed using the Test-Retest method (0.836 Before and 0.909 After the surgical intervention). The overall results show that 83% of the staff demonstrate medium and high adherence to the handwashing protocol before the surgical procedure (71% and 12%, respectively), and 70% show medium and high adherence after the surgical procedure (45% and 25%, respectively). El proyecto se realizará con el Objetivo de “Determinar la relación que existe entre el conocimiento sobre lavado de manos y la práctica del personal de enfermería en el área del centro Quirúrgico”. Procedimiento de investigación hipotético-deductivo, orientación cuantitativa, carácter aplicativo, diseño no experimental, de tipo transversal/correlacional. La población y muestra se conformará por 92 especialistas en enfermería. Como técnica de evaluación, se utilizará un sondeo para medir los factores relacionados y la aceptación del tratamiento. Se empleará un cuestionario verificado por expertos, con un indicador de correlación de R de Pearson de 0.27 y una fiabilidad de Kuder-Richarson de 0.78. Asimismo, una lista de cotejo verificado por jueces exonerados a través de la métrica V de Aiken, que arrojó un valor de 0.94 y una fiabilidad de 0.98 (Kuder-Richarson). Método: La investigación utilizó metodología hipotético-deductiva, naturaleza cuantitativa, no experimental, corte transversal y nivel correlacional. Muestra conformada por 112 progenitoras con niños que no superan los 5 años. Se emplearon dos cuestionarios, el "Conocimiento sobre lavado de manos en madres de niños menores de 5 años" y las “Actitudes sobre lavado de manos en madres de niños menores de 5 años”. Resultados: El estudio reveló que el mayor porcentaje de progenitoras (51,8%) posee un buen nivel de conocimiento sobre lavado de manos, seguido por un 24,1% con nivel muy bueno, 20,5% regular y solo 3,6% deficiente.; respecto a la actitud de las madres hacia el lavado de manos, el 71,4% tuvo una actitud positiva, el 28,6% una actitud indiferente y 0% una actitud negativa. Conclusiones: Se determina relación entre las variables conocimiento y actitud hacia el lavado de manos (p = 0,000); los datos muestran una correlación positiva, a mayor grado de conocimiento sobre el lavado de manos, las progenitoras desarrollan actitudes más favorables hacia esta práctica de higiene con sus hijos menores de 5 años. A nivel de las dimensiones del conocimiento sobre lavados de manos, se identifica relación entre la dimensión aspectos básicos, material y procedimientos con la actitud respecto el lavado de manos en madres con hijos que no superan los cinco años.Publicación Acceso abierto Conocimiento y cumplimiento del protocolo de lavado de manos en estudiantes del 5 al 8 ciclo de la Universidad Norbert Wiener, Lima - 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-02-19) Corzo Arotoma, Daysi; Marroquín García, Lorenzo EnriqueEl presente estudio tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y el cumplimiento del protocolo de lavado de manos en estudiantes del 5° al 8° ciclo de la Universidad Norbert Wiener, Lima - 2024. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental, descriptivo y transversal. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 208 estudiantes, seleccionados mediante muestreo aleatorio simple. Los resultados mostraron que la mayoría de los estudiantes (88.9%) posee un nivel de conocimiento medio sobre el protocolo de lavado de manos. Sin embargo, se observó un alto porcentaje de cumplimiento adecuado del protocolo (89.9%), lo que indica que, aunque el conocimiento no es predominantemente alto, es suficiente para asegurar una práctica adecuada en la mayoría de los estudiantes. La relación entre el conocimiento y el cumplimiento fue estadísticamente significativa (p<0.05), lo que confirma la hipótesis planteada en el estudio. The search was based on complete articles, which were used in critical reading, using the grade system to assign the strength of suggestion. These articles were found in the Pubmed and Medline databases, all of which are of systematic review design (4 articles) and meta-analysis (1 article), which are considered the highest and most reliable in terms of evidence quality and recommendation strength. Conclusions: Educational intervention is effective in increasing handwashing among healthcare personnel. Of the 5 articles analyzed, 60% (3/5) are experimental, 20% (1/5) is quantitative, and 20% (1/5) is a systematic review. In terms of the quality of evidence, 80% was found to be high, and 20% was medium. According to the strength of recommendation, 80% is strong, and 20% is weak. The countries where the studies were conducted are the United Kingdom (20%), the United States (20%), Mexico (20%), China (20%), and Peru (20%). Conclusions: It is concluded that 5 out of 5 articles demonstrate that manual washing is effective for the complete removal of biological debris from surgical instruments. Methodology: This is a systematic review, whose search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading to identify their level of evidence. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, finding that 40% (04) correspond to Spain, 30% (03) to Mexico, 10% (01) correspond to Brazil, Colombia and Cuba respectively. Mostly non-experimental studies have been examined, with 50%, mainly in the countries of Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil. Pre and quasi-experimental with 40%, in the countries of Cuba, Spain and Mexico; With meta-analytic information, 10% was found; belonging to Spain. Of the total articles analyzed, 80% agree that educational interventions on handwashing are effective in health personnel. A tal efecto se siguió una ruta cuantitativa, analítica y no experimental donde se evaluaron a 64 colaboradores de salud mediante una ficha de recolección de datos midiendo con bioluminiscencia, a través de un luminómetro, las unidades relativas de luz (URL), considerándose que cuanto mayor sea el número de URL habrá un mayor grado de contaminación, siendo la higiene de manos apropiada cuando el número de URL sea <500 URL. Los hallazgos evidenciaron que el lavado de manos en el personal sanitario fue apropiado (p=0.000). Antes del lavado de manos, el 53.1% del personal asistencial mostró una higiene de manos apropiada, mientras que el 46.9% fue no apropiada. Luego del lavado de manos el 100% calificó como higiene apropiada. They all demonstrate the effectiveness of evidence-based educational interventions to increase the level of knowledge and improve healthy practices for the prevention of intestinal parasitosis in children: they are usually educational interventions aimed at teachers, parents and school children taught to through educational talks, demonstration sessions, posters, videos, brochures, etc. on specific topics of parasites signs, symptoms and their prevention. Educational programs with teaching resources such as videos, social dramas and workshops achieve a positive effect in improving knowledge related to healthy practices and habits such as; hand washing, nail trimming, personal hygiene, environmental hygiene and proper disposal of excreta. The nurse plays an important role in the education of children at school. Material and methods: quantitative, descriptive, applicative, and cross-sectional study, with a population of 160 parents, with a sample of 82 parents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the technique was the questionnaire survey by the author Caypo 2012 ( 25), where the reliability value of the questionnaire was 0.798. The primary purpose of the study is to determine the level of knowledge and its relationship with the practice of central venous catheter care of nurses in the intensive care unit of the Auna clinic, Lima, 2021. The population and census sample are the nurses who work at the Auna Clinic during the period October to December 2021. The survey and observation technique is the one that will be applied to collect the observations of both variables. To measure knowledge, the questionnaire created and validated by Herrera in 2019 will be used, an instrument composed of 24 items divided into 3 dimensions: maintenance, solution management and complications, which has a reliability of 0.79 applying Kuder's formula 20 - Richardson. To estimate the nurse's practice in the care of the central venous catheter, the checklist instrument validated by Torres in 2019 will be used through a pilot test and applying Kuder's formula 20 - Richardson obtained a reliability result of 0.88. . Bernales Hospital - Collique, Collique, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-17) Ricra Ricra, María Elizabeth; Basurto Santillán, Ivan JavierThe present research work entitled "Knowledge and Practice of clinical handwashing of the surgical center staff of the Hospital Sergio Bernales, Collique 2021" is carried out within the scope of nursing in a surgical center, focusing on the knowledge and practice of handwashing, topic of vital relevance within the healthcare field, since the health, well-being and life of the professionals who work in said context and, mainly, of the patients who require surgery for some condition or ailment depend on it. In this sense, handwashing becomes a barrier to avoid nosocomial infections that could harm the healthy development of the service. The objective of which was to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice of clinical handwashing among surgical center staff. Materials and methods: the approach is quantitative, the research is basic, with a descriptive-correlational scope and a non-experimental, transversal design. The sample includes 76 health workers from the Surgical Center of the Sergio E. Bernales Hospital in Collique. The selected technique is the survey and the instruments are the questionnaire for the knowledge variable and a check list for the practical handwashing variable.
