(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-10-18) Santi Meléndez, José de Jesús; Bohórquez Medina, Andrea Lisbet
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is defined as “persistently elevated albumin excretion in urine (≥ 30 mg/g), reduced estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR < 60 ml/min/1.73 m2), or both for more than 3 months.” Various studies have shown the effect of curcumin on improving inflammatory indicators in CKD patients. This review aimed to evaluate the effect of curcumin supplementation in CKD patients. The methodology followed the five phases of Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) and databases such as PUBMED, SCIELO, DIALNET, EMBASE, and SCOPUS were used to search for information. Fifteen articles were selected for evaluation using the CASPE critical reading tool, ultimately selecting the systematic review with meta-analysis titled “Efficacy and safety of dietary turmeric supplementation in proteinuria in CKD: a systematic review and meta-analysis of RCTs” with an A I classification – Strong for evidence and recommendation level. The conclusion, based on critical commentary, is that curcumin is useful for proteinuria in CKD patients and could be used as a therapeutic option. However, more research is needed to determine the optimal dose and duration of curcumin treatment.

Effectiveness of nursing educational intervention to reduce sedentary lifestyle in office workers
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-08) Gonzales Ureta, Elsa Carmen; Obando Santos, Lesly Vanesa; Basurto Santillán, Ivan Javier
Objective: Systematize scientific articles. Methodology: It is a systematic, observational, retrospective search engine review. Sciencedirect, Pubmed, Elsevier and Scielo, Results: 70% (7/10) of the research reviewed mentions that homogeneous interventions of “provision of educational information plus physical activity” have had relevant results to reduce sedentary lifestyle in office workers . While 20% (2/10) of the studies only provided the “information dimension”, these have had lower results in their implementation. Likewise, 10% (1/10) of the studies only provided “physical activity”, a study that managed to achieve the standard of physical activity required per day. Conclusions: 7/10 scientific evidence concluded that the mixed intervention of “physical activity plus “information” is sustained over time to reduce sedentary lifestyle and illness in office workers. 2/10 evidence concludes that working on a single indicator “information provision” has little relevance to achieving behavioral change. While 1/10 study shows that working on a single indicator “physical activity” is extremely effective, but for the medium time.
