Anemia in children under five years old and its relation to individual characteristics and maternal education, 2017
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-09-10) Pinchi Flores, Romelia; Lozada Urbano, Michelle
Poverty in Peru has been reduced, but cases of anemia remain very high. Iron deficiency anemia is about half of all causes of anemia cases, the other half is caused by inherited blood disorders or parasitic infections and malaria. We worked with the 2017 National Demographic Health Survey. The population was made up of children aged 0-59 months. The construction of the model proceeded in the following way, the individual characteristics (age, sex, birth number) and the proximal determinants such as place of origin, height, as well as an indicator variable of the mother such as educational level, together with the degrees of anemia (mild, moderate and severe). The results show The variables age of the child (p=0.000), altitude (p=0.000), were associated with severe anemia. The age of the child (p=0.000), a change between female or male sex (p=0.000), a change in birth order (p=0.025), change in urban or rural residence (p=0.005), the altitude (p=0.000), and the educational level of the mother (p=0.000), were associated with moderate anemia. The age of the child (p=0.000), a change between female or male sex (p=0.002), a change in birth order (p=0.003), change in urban or rural residence (p=0.000), the altitude (p=0.000), and the educational level of the mother (p=0.000), were associated with mild anemia. It is concluded with these results that these associated factors should be considered depending on the level of anemia.

The battle against anemia and malnutrition continues to be a challenge in Peru. Observational, longitudinal, and analytical study. To determine the assessment of the intervention, McNemar's non-parametric test was used. Study made up of 57 people, distributed among 25 men and 35 women, who correspond to father, mother or caregiver of boys or girls under five years of age. We worked with the entire population. The results show 78% have a marital status defined as cohabiting. 43.75% are in the range of 21 to 30 years old. More than 56% have completed incomplete primary and completed secondary education. 61% have their houses made of adobe. Less than a third of homes have electricity and water. 50% of children are diagnosed with anemia, and that percentage is between mild and moderate anemia. 92.5% consume foods of animal origin. 59.46% consume them 3 times a week. 37.5% present malnutrition. The intervention was carried out in 40 homes. After Hb 1 screening & Hb 2 screening, with a P=0.00, there is a modification in the Hemoglobin measurement, likewise, after the BMI measurement before and after, with a P=0.039, there is a modification in the nutritional diagnosis as a result. of the intervention. This intervention demonstrates that the strategies applied allowed for the improvement of anemia and chronic malnutrition.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-26) Tantalean Carranza, María Bethy; Gamarra Bustillos, Carlos
Complementary feeding practices are an essential tool for human health, since an adequate dietary practice can reduce or avoid the rate of contracting anemia generally in minors, who are the sector with the highest risk. The main objective of this project is to determine the relationship between complementary feeding practices and iron deficiency anemia in children aged 6 to 24 months, at the Llanavilla Health Post in Villa el Salvador, Lima - 2021. The present study has a hypothetical deductive research method with a quantitative approach, applied type, correlational and transversal design. The population and sample are children under 24 months of age treated at the Llanavilla Health Post in the first half of the current year, and the technique that will be applied is the survey, and at the same time the documentary record will be used to extract the results of hemoglobin. Finally, to measure the variable, complementary feeding practice, it is based on a questionnaire, which is made up of 13 items and divided into two dimensions, which are: types of food that determines 6 questions and frequency of food consumption by 7 questions, of In this way, the evaluation scale is established. This instrument was created in 2016 by the researchers: Álvarez Quiñones, Huamani Mendoza, Montoya Jiménez, Clara Trinidad, from the Cayetano Heredia University, and Validated by expert judgment, its reliability is 0.81 by Cron Bach's alpha, which makes this instrument reliable for the application.

The methodology was descriptive, quantitative, analytical, non-experimental, retrospective, and cross-sectional. The population consisted of 36 recipes presented during educational sessions in 2022, selected by non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Standards for nutritional values were used for each ingredient, and the recipes were evaluated according to the nutritional requirements for each age group. The results showed that the recipes provided, on average, 50% of energy, and in relation to hematopoietic nutrients, they covered 59% of iron, 42% of protein, 40% of vitamin C, 27% of vitamin A, and 23% of zinc. The quality of the recipes was adequate despite some variations in nutrient values, highlighting the importance of recognizing the nutritional requirements for each child.

Modulation of the intestinal microbiota through diet can have a beneficial effect on the development of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCCD). The present secondary research titled as a critical review: Influence of diet on the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients with chronic non-communicable diseases under 75 years of age, aimed to analyze the influence of the type of diet on the composition of the intestinal microbiota of patients with NCD under 75 years of age. The clinical question was: What is the type of diet that improves the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients under 75 years of age who suffer from chronic non-communicable diseases? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, NML, Cochrane Library, finding 36 articles, 10 were selected that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial entitled Mediterranean diet intervention in overweight and obese subjects lowers plasma cholesterol and causes changes in the gut microbiome and metabolome independently of energy intake, which has a level of evidence I and Grade of Recommendation Strong, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical commentary allowed us to conclude that the Mediterranean diet positively influences the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients with NCD under 75 years of age and can be considered within the nutritional intervention in these people.

Effective strategies to strengthen growth and development in children
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Pereyra Campos, Cynthia Karin; Krederdt Araujo, Sherin Luz
Objective: Systematize the best evidence in already completed research; That is, to what extent the research found adds new knowledge to the central question. Material and methods: Information was collected from different articles according to the level of evidence and degree of recommendation. Thus, descriptive and correlational studies were selected. Results: The factors that intervene in the non-attendance of the CRED control of the boy and girl, the mothers and/or caregivers report that the nursing staff is insufficient and they have difficulties with the hours of care, with the waiting time, diversity of tasks of the home. Conclusions: It is detailed that in the range of 4 to 8%, fathers, mothers, caregivers have difficulties taking their children to the CRED due to work schedules, leaving their children in the care of minors, due to ignorance of the importance of the CRED, generating a significant gap between the children who attend the CRED and those who do not attend, which could be decisive, so that the children do not reach optimal development, causing them to be limited in their cognitive development and school performance, limiting their possibilities to access other levels of education, and with low economic productivity when they reach the adult stage of life. This is why it is essential to generate effective strategies to strengthen the growth and development of children; it is necessary to involve the person, family and community in this context, to preserve family health in the population.
