Anxiety and pain in the pediatric patient from 8 to 12 years of the emergency hospital of Villa El Salvador, lima - 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-11-21) Perez Paucar, Gisella; Fernández Rengifo, Werther Fernando
The first thing that can be observed when a pediatric patient is admitted to the hospitalization area, whether coming from the operating room or the emergency department, is that anxiety is directly and significantly related to the intensity of the pediatric patient's pain. To measure this, two scales for assessing anxiety and pain were used. Based on these results, nursing interventions can be designed to help make the pediatric patient's hospital stay more pleasant and less traumatic.

Dolor en la columna vertebral y actividad física en escolares de 4°, 5° y 6° de primaria de la I.E. N° 1161, 2025
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-08-07) Merma Arapa, Lizeth; Bejarano Ambrosio, Miriam Juvit

Effective interventions for pain control in surgical abortion
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-07-22) Cachay Ruiz, Jacquelin Alexandra; Villacorta de Chamoli, Marysabel; Gómez Gonzales, Walter Edgar
Objective: To systematize the available evidence on effective interventions for pain control in surgical abortion. Materials and Methods: This is a systematic review, in which relevant studies are identified to answer specific questions related to clinical practice. The search was restricted to full-text articles, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading, using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation. Results: The systematic review of the 07 scientific articles on effective therapeutic methods for pain control in surgical abortion were found in the following databases: PubMed, Medline, Elsevier, Ebsco, and Cochrane Plus. All of them correspond to the type and design of studies: systematic reviews 02, randomized clinical trials 04, and quasi-experimental 01. Conclusions: 33% (n=02/07) of the reviewed articles show that there are various methods for pain control in surgical abortion. These methods can be divided into local anesthesia, conscious sedation, general anesthesia, and non-pharmacological methods. However, they do not specify the most effective therapeutic method for postoperative pain control in these types of interventions. 67% (n=05/07) conclude that the therapeutic method of conscious sedation with a paracervical block improves postoperative pain control in surgical abortion. However, the results are not conclusive, so further studies are needed to determine any benefit. In the meantime, the decision remains at the discretion of the physician, supported by the specialist nurse in the surgical center.

Objective: To systematize the evidence found on the effectiveness of burn care to reduce pain and infection in pediatric patients. Material and Methods: Systematic review, based on critical reading and carried out under the GRADE evaluation system to assess the quality of evidence of the articles selected from the following databases: PubMed, Epistemonikos, Wiley Online Library, Sciencedirect, Cochrane and Scielo. Results: The reviewed articles showed that 40% are randomized controlled trials, 30% are systematic reviews, 10% are prospective randomized controlled trials, 10% are retrospective cohort studies and 10% are non-experimental quantitative descriptive studies. On the other hand, it was found that 90% support the effectiveness of burn care for reducing pain and infection in pediatric patients, decreasing the burned body area and reepithelialization of the burn, while 10% indicate that there is not enough evidence around the research topic and the appearance of infection in pediatric patients was found. Conclusion: Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed in (9/10) it was found that there is effectiveness of burn care for reducing pain and infection in pediatric patients and in (1/10) it was shown that there is no effectiveness.

Material and methods: The PICO instrument was applied and a systematic bibliographic search was carried out through recognized search engines such as LILACS, PubMED, ELSEIVER, etc. Classifying the information through the use of Caspe templates and the level of evidence and degree of recommendation by the GRADE system. Results: 100% of the articles show evidence of the positive influence that music exerts in the different stages of the perioperative period, showing not only the significant decrease in pain but also the decrease in the level of anxiety, 2 articles found showed patients with functional stable vital signs, decreased administration of analgesics and anesthetics, even when the patient is under general anesthesia. Conclusions: Music can be used and implemented as a simple, safe and effective method of reducing potentially harmful physiological responses caused by pain in patients during the perioperative period.

Effectiveness of non-pharmacological management in reducing pain in patients with fibromyalgia.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Chávez Mendoza, Valerie Ruth Stephany; Rivera Lozada de Bonilla, Oriana
Systematic Review, unit of analysis, original primary studies. Databases: Intramed, PubMed. Ten articles were selected, of which 80% were high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses from countries such as China, Israel, the United States, Brazil, and Australia. The remaining 20% were clinical trial articles from the United States. Results: The 10 articles revealed that 80% (8/10) of the authors agree that the use of norepinephrine in patients with septic shock resulted in fewer adverse cardiac events and reduced arrhythmia rates compared to dopamine use. Conclusions: The reviewed articles show that norepinephrine is more effective than dopamine in treating septic shock, as it does not present adverse effects, such as cardiac arrhythmias, and is associated with lower mortality rates. In contrast, dopamine is less effective compared to norepinephrine due to its adverse effects like arrhythmias and increased mortality.
